nancmat, I went to Rome for a long weekend when I was about 30 weeks. I had the most fantastic time even though I was dreading it as I thought I would be really uncomfy. It wasnt too warm when we went and I dont think I could have dealt with anything too hot. I just didnt push myself to do anything. We got up late had a wander about, sat in a cafe and had a break, did some more wandering then had naps at the hotel in the afternoon before going out for a long dinner in the evening. It was absolutely perfect and I really appreciated the time that I spent with hubby as it was the last chance for it to be just the two of us on holiday.

I also felt that it gave hubby time to bond with the baby because he was with me all the time and I could tell him what her movements were and talk about all our plans without interruption. I also have some bump pics in Rome which I can show her when she's older!

I would thoroughly recommend a long weekend away if you can!

Ahh Mooki thats really sweet, kinda confirmed we do need some time away from home, and the same routine of work, sleep, eat until our lives get turned around at least.. will get look for a cheap night or two ina hotel or flight somewhere. thanks x

Lou66. I had a bicornuate uterus without knowing it. When I got pregnant the first time I woke up one morning at 20 weeks in dreadful pain and was admitted to hospital. They still didn't realise what was wrong, and in the end the uterus ruptured. I lost our little girl, but they managed to save me, and did some reconstruction on the uterus. The good news is that a year later I was pregnant again, (even though I only had one fallopian tube left, and had had problems conceiving the first time), and sailed through with no problems at all, and had another boy a couple of years later, again without problems. I think there are varying degrees of the condition. In my case they said it was more like a horn off the main uterus, and the first baby was growing in that. If yours is heart-shaped, it doesn't sound as severe.

I think you should discuss it with your doctor or consultant to be on the safe side, but if your midwife knows about it and doesn't seem concerned, then I'm sure you will be fine. Do seek prompt attention though if you get sudden severe unexplained pain that won't go away, or a feeling of not being able to straighten up.

Good luck, and enjoy your pregnancy!

Hi and thank you so much for replying , when i had a 8 week scan they said baby was on right hand side of my womb and it's like a heart shaped womb so will just have to wait and see i will discuss it with my gp at the next appoinment and will get attention if i get any pain etc. Elasti Girl great news at my scan on Sunday the sonographer was pushing down quite hard as well as the baby seemed to be sleeping (Just like it's DAD) Anyway at one point he pushed down so hard it seemed the baby turned to the screen as if to say leave me alone iam sleeping ;) My edd was meant to be the 17th of Dec but he lowered it to the 15th of Dec. However my cousins due around the same day as me so my family are taking bets as to who will go xmas day. So I am sure Aless02 they will move your dates forward at your next scan and we will end up being the same day :T

Sorry but Im rushing in because I just went to the loo and there is some red blood in my knickers and on the paper.

It's only tiny spots so I've put some paper in my knickers and am waiting a bit to see if there is any more or if maybe I have somehow scratched myself in the night (only just got up).

Doing my best not to panic as last time I had a bleed it was thrush, but need to talk to someone and don;t want to scare OH.

Anyone know the chances of survival at 33 weeks?

got to go into work to discuss my redundancy package etc for 1pm.. might try and get there for 12 so i can have lunch with my buddies...

sky is about the fall down here... so dark outside!

anyways... i'm off - took too long to catch up and now i cant stay and chat :-( will maybe pop in tonight before bed, after my course if i can stay awake long enough!

I'm sorry that has scared you skinty but please try not to worry. It could just be thrush again. or many other things, especially since it is only tiny spots.

I'm afraid I don't know statistics of survival at 33 weeks but that is 10 weeks more than some babies survive at so I'm sure it would be fine. Is it worth a quick call to the midwife just for a bit of reassurance?

And think of Rhys, he is doing really well despite being early and scaring Elle a few times. Try to stay positive

    Got everything crossed for you.

Skinty - these were the stats I watched while pregnant:
    http://www.babylink.info/edinburgh/BabyOnUnit/Outcome.aspx

"if a baby is born between 32-36 wks, the chance of survival is 97%"

Its based on one hospital, but it is hard to find specific numbers so it was always the source I refered to.

I had a bit of spotting at about 36 weeks. Turned out to be a UTI, despite me having no pain.

    Hi feelie !!

Thats just what I was about to say, could be a UTI, thats what mine was with DD too. Give the MW a ring and tell her you have had a little bit of spotting and she may tell you to pop up to the hospital for a quick look
