Quick question re benefits and all that stuff. Due to my & DH income we'd have no chance of being able to claim anything, but when I'm on mat leave I'll only be getting Mat allowance and it will all be a bit of a struggle - I know the answer is probably no but can we claim anything during this period

Oh MM, I had a dream about you last night!!!! Actually I had two!!! :rotfl:

First DH and I bought this lovely mansion only to discover the one next door was far posher and you lived in it. But you decided to paint your mansion plum and the rain washed it all off and ruined our garden. I was not amused and all you did was offer us some wine glasses which I accepted but was secretly chuffed as my wine glasses were actually posher. And for some reason my kitchen tap was in a kitchen cupboard, which was a bit random, I kept looking for the plumbing for it.

Then I woke up and ran downstairs to make dinner... at 4.50am.... So went back to bed and fell asleep to dream about meeting you and telling you all about my weird dream and you said 'wow, that was weird!'.

Thanks - Can I find out if I'm entitled to that in advance or do I need to wait until bump arrives?

Just smile and nod, MM ;)

Thankyou for Rhys' lifetime member status btw :D

Speaking of my darling little rat bag, he's being a proper little stroppy thing this afternoon :( He's had lots of needles and things coming at him today so we think he's upset by them (I know I would be!) and has been tiring himself out by waving his arms about and trying to fight people off - he's quite strong for a little fella! ;) A baby who was on the unit then transferred out has developed an infection so all the ones still here have got to be tested for it too so that was more prodding. Aside from that, Rhys is on antibiotics too now for a suspected chest infection and it's going in as a drip so he's got another canula in his arm :( We're leaving him to rest for a good few hours.. Hope he's not crying out through there!! :(

Went to the house but can't really unpack things in the kitchen because they need cleaning and the hot water is switched off at the mo. Going to write out a plan of what's going where, plus a plan of what else is left to do and some sort of schedule for it. Doesn't help that the builder - who has just taken a week off for a vaguely bad back - took this afternoon off too to fetch a part for his broken car. We're not paying him for the length of time the job takes so he's not getting paid any more by stretching it out, I just want the bloody job done so we can move home again! You'd have thought he'd have wanted to get finished so he can move on to the next job and earn more but he seems to be dragging his heels at the minute :( Am hoping writing him (yet another!) plan will make him pick up speed so we can move back next week.

I think I'm going to try driving next weekend. Anyone who's had a c-section before.. how long before you drove again?
