Hi I have a sony ericsson w800i about 6 months into a 12 month contract, only thing is the phone keeps switching itself off, it constantly goes onto camera mode and the screen crashes temporarily far too often for my liking.
If I fone o2 and tell them are they going to do anything? or am I screwed as I didnt take insurance on the phone, the phone is kept in a case and I have never dropped it etc.
all help appreciated before I phone them.

You need to take it to a Sony Ericsson service centre. They will fix it for free under the 12 months warranty.0

theres no chance they will offer me just a new phone? fancy an n70, what if I phone them and offer to take out a new contract.0

Hope thats of some use. I'm fairly sure a few CarphoneWarehouses have them too. Normally the first point of call is the retailer you bought the phone from (not the network).
I personally have used Fleet Communications a few times, who have been very helpful.0 -

You are only 6 months in, so I don't think they will accept that. You are best off fixing the phone through the warranty. If you really want the n70, once it has been fixed sell it and buy the n70 with the money left over.0 -
thanks, i got the phone direct from o2's website0

is there anyway I can get out of the contract or get them to sign me up for a n700
-
where did you buy the phone from? - sorry just seen your anwser above
ps read my previos post on the other thread - just got an n70 now spare.... perhaps you could try something similar?0 -
can nyone help? 0 -
Your signed up for a 12 month contract, and there is not much you can do about it. There will be a clause in your contract about ending it early - they will make you pay the line rental for the remaining 6 months. I sincerely doubt they will right off your contract even if you offer to take out a new one.
I've had a faulty Sony Ericsson on an O2 contract. If you take it into any O2 shop they will sort out sending it away for a repair for you. They will provide you with a loan phone if needed, and they text you and leave a voicemail message when your phone is back in. In my case it couldnt be repaired and I got a replacement (same model).0 -
I get the feeling you may have to go down the route that bagand96 has outlined but when you do ask if you can have a n70 instead they may say no until they have it checked out after which if they say to you that we'll offer you a replacement, which is likely as often these phones cost more to repair than to give you a new one then you could probably say well now can I have an n70.0
