Well done on the interview Tiredmum. I hate the anticlimax when you get back it's awful. Put something on the tv that YOU like and leave him asleep
I'm about to start the ironing which I've been putting off since the weather got hot at the end of last week :rotfl: I won't laughing when I've done it though I'm sure! Hope that everyone has a pleasant evening.0 -
LO Chicken made into curry with rice for tea. I am ashamed to say that pre-MSE days nobody in our house used to eat the legs and wings of chicken and after a few days in the fridge always ended up in the dog (if not too long) or worse the bin.:o I realised today at work when thinking what to use it up on that I am well and truly converted - it simply was not an option to throw it away!!! I bulked it up with frozen chopped onions, mushrooms and peppers that once upon a time would have been in the bin also and not frozen to save wasting - so I realise I owe a big thank you to you all for changing my mindset!!!! :T:A:T:A
Hope everyone has a nice evening

This was me too. I'd never cooked a whole chicken until last year, it was always chicken breasts as I convinced myself I'd never liked the "dark" meat. I'd never picked a chicken carcass clean and left overs were normally thrown away. I'd never eaten a curry or chilli let alone cooked it myself  Lentils were the preserve of hippies and veggies and I'd never have the urge to grow my own veg.
I've become a far better cook than I ever hoped I could be and much of the inspiration has come from OS board.
It's with the help from this board I've managed to jack in my old boring job and become a childminder so that I can be at home with my own children. I have no work at the moment and living on a couple of hundred pounds a month and it's not been too much of a struggle at the mo (could be different if something major broke down but <touch wood> we are doing OK so far).
So thanks from me too :T:beer:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Evening all
Said I'd come here more often & then time & tide got the better of me!
Had 20 wk scan today - bean OK but still don't know if it's a boy or a girl, but doesn't matter as long as bits & pieces in the right place!
OS today consisted of spending only what I had to (for a change!) - petrol as car was on fumes, few quid in MrS, cheap tea (jacket spuds & beans). Ongoing OS includes several tubs of potatoes in the garden, tubs of mint, trying to force rhubarb to give a second crop. With new baby coming along, I have to really plan well for next year, as I'd love to grow some more edible stuff & invest in a good slow coooker - all advice gratefully received! :rotfl:

i didn`t think i`d manage to get back online today but here i am.
Noahspennilessmummy - I hope that you`re feeling better now and the headache is a distant memory.
Fairy elephant- ((((HUGS)))) for you and your Mum.
Diva - I used to love the jars of sandwich spread many moons ago, i didn`t know that they could still be bought. I made one that i copied from here a while ago but i didn`t have all the ingredients so i changed a few things, it ended up like this -
4 carrots, 2 celery sticks, 2 onions, 1 clove garlic, 1 tin drained butterbeans, squirt of tomato puree, a quarter tsp ground cumin, half tsp smoked paprika, black pepper.
Cook the veg until soft then throw the lot into the food processor.
Refridgerate and eatdelish on hm bread and with salad leaves from the garden.
Whatatwit - the above recipe may be something to try for your DD
Tired Mum - fingers crossed for you, Friday will soon be here.
Ravylesley - what a great cake! wish i could make something as beautiful as that, anything delicate that i dare to go near ends up like something off the old generation game :rotfl:
Offski to do some w*rk before i get caught on here
Catch you tomorrow peeps.

EDIT Welcome Owl :wave:Planning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Evening everyone
Not too much OSing here apart from washing the sheets, drying outside, and in the process of cooking tea, Smoked Haddock with Brocolli and Cheese Sauce for me, and Sausage & Chips for DH:rolleyes:, followed by sugar free jelly and fruit.
Will do some ironing after tea, but went to town to sort out the Dad's bank (my brother and I have POA), went to pick some new frames from old lenses as in Spain you have to carry a spare pair of spectacles when driving, and there was no change for the distance. Went round £land, £world, Home Bargains, Wilkinsons and TJ Hughes but minimal spend. Then went to BHS, and did some holiday clothes buying - I like their clothes they wash well. Had a look in M&S but was not impressed, and bought a early xmas pressie for DS as they had one of their No 7 gifts on and he likes their No 7 for Men range.
Ladymay - resort to the phrase I used when exasperated by DH - Men! they are not worth swearing over. Hopefully a new job will come along and keep you busy.
Lesley the cake is gorgeous. I would love a piece but the waist line says now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Back again after 4 hour break due ot the Apprentice.
Fairy Elephant My Dad has dementia (unsure as to the difference between the two) and I had to take him to an assessment unit for his own safety, and he is still "in care" 5 years later. I will PM you.
Stef ((hugs)) to DD
NPM hope you have seen the Dr. Could be stress relative to worries of your DS.
 All :grouphug: to those in need
