Anyone else thinking of taking up the governments offer of taxpayers money?
Go on you'll get 88 days out of it.
    Not very MSE eh?

    It continues....

Some people just like to moan.

Maybe if you looked at the bigger picture you would see things differently.

I am looking at the bigger picture, the hundreds of billions of pounds worth of hole this government's policies have gotten us into.
Giving away more money going to help is it???
It's going to take generations to pay it back as it is.

You clearly have a political motive. I expect the frequency of your posts to increase as we approach the elections on Thursday.

This Government has made plenty of mistakes. Failure to restrict the Tory dream of a free market economy being just one of them. The 'mess' that we are in - just like most other countries - was caused by a systemic failure of the banking system. A system that had been with us for many years and 'approved' by both major parties in this country and by most of the rest of the world.

Whatever the Labour party do to try to recover from the mess will be derided by opportunistic opponents. Their cheap jibes do nothing but hinder the recovery process.

:o donaldtramp... Well, we just finished paying off the war loans from the United States. It took generations to pay that. (Well... just odd sixty years but still...)

But it is funny, that the Her Majesty's Government is on wartime borrowing and yet there is no world war. :(

The government only funds a £1k of the scrappage scheme. So any car which retails (pre vat) for more £5714 makes money for the government.

I believe that the one which doesn't is a Kia.... Could anybody confirm this?

In five weeks time I will be picking up a new Aygo. My car at the moment is 13 years old and has done about 235K miles and does about 15/17 miles to the gallon when going back and forth to work. Insurance is about £250 a year, Tax £185, MOT £50 (plus normally a couple of hundred quid). The ABS, Steering Rack, Front tyres, the front suspension coils are all broken.
How much will this cost to replace on my BMW?

However Aygo is £35 Tax, group 1 insurance, 3 year warrenty and servicing. 3 year old ones still are fetching £5800 secondhand.
I would say I am being very MSE.
Well done Broon for one good policy.
Also not forgeting all the loverly people that will keep in employment for it as well.:T
I bought a Golf TDi for £450 a few weeks ago. Goes almost 3 times as far per gallon as your 17mpg BMW.
    Happy chappy
