We have some great words up here that can mean a few things... and words that can take the place of whole sentences.

E.g. Ahm mogerred - I'm feeling really rather tipsy at the moment, old chap.

Ooh, dips - you should watch parliamo glasgow :rotfl::rotfl:

Ahm mogerred is very much like I'm buggered :D

Clydebank - is that a horrible place?

I'm just back in the door from Clydebank! Been there for the last few hours, it's about 10 minutes away from where I live.

It's quite a large place, so you've got plenty different areas to choose from. I would say that it's quite poor...... it has a large, sprawling shopping centre I use quite a lot, decent sports facilities, a cinema etc. One of the big bonuses is that you are very close to Loch Lomond and have easy access to the Western Highlands which you will enjoy exploring. In the other direction you have Glasgow's West End which is trendy and offers a great night out whatever you are looking for.

There are some really excellent areas you could live in all within 10 minutes of Clydebank.....if you need any help or suggestions about anything at all please feel free to ask or pm me.

    Lol....

Did anyone ever hear the story (apparently true, now a well known joke, many different versions of it) about the group from Aberdeen that went on a lads holiday?

The lads (loons as they are known in Aberdeenshire) decided to try water ski-ing. One of them looked at the flippers, turning them this way, and that, baffled by there not appearing to be a left foot and a right foot, as they both looked the same. He turned to the instructor and said:

"Hey min ken ye tell ma fit fit fits fit fit?"

    Leaving one very bemused instructor!

    Scotland; differences to England:

To me (a soft southerner with Scots roots) Scotland has..

Tastier and less generic and poncy food, there's much of it that I miss and can't get down here.

More pride in and better sense of itself as a country

    Wilder more dramatic scenery

    A lovely accent

and last but by no means least....

Tougher but generally more friendly people.

Don't get me wrong, I love living in England, and there's great things about most parts of the UK, but Scotland is pretty unique in it's charms IMO.
