Hi All
I went BR on June 11th. May I join the club? Everyone was very professional and unassuming. I had a telephone call with the OR office after the Judge had signed the order and that's about it.
I'm currently arranging for estate agents to value the house as it is joint owned and in negative equity (we think / hope) - we want to keep it if we can (joint owned - only me going BR - not my wife).
I have my telephone interview tomorrow morning. Any helpful tips appreciated.
Thanks

Looks like I can just squeeze into the club..? 0941 on 30 June at Luton.
Turned up at 0900, a bit early for the 0915 appointment made on the phone. Went to the main County Court reception on the 2nd Floor and after clearing security was then told that Bankruptcy is actually on the 5th Floor... Up I went, and I was the first person there. The 5th Floor doesn't open till 1000, but Bankruptcy petitions get let in early. So I was straight in, forms checked, fees paid, promise made, and then back down to the 2nd Floor for the judge. I waited in the chairs, but the judge didn't want to see me, so one of the ushers just told me to go back up to the 5th Floor. A bit of a wait at that point, as others who were petitioning were being seen, thenI was then shown into an interview room to receive my Bankruptcy Order, a stamped copy of the paperwork, and a quick chat with St Albans OR. They quickly checked my name, address, if I had any significant assets, the total amount of debt, and I was then told to expect a letter with an appointment for the telephone interview. As others have mentioned, the court staff were very friendly, helpful, and non-judgmental. Using the online service for the forms seemed to make a big difference to the clerk when checking my paperwork. I had been told when making my appointment to expect it to take three hours, I was out at 1015 :-)0 -
