Thanks, always nice to hear good stories. LO's hernia isnt really a hernia as such, it has no defined edges and is a weakened muscle rather than a hole. It is on her side below her ribs and is probably related to her back condition. They are going to try and put a patch in but there is a possibility it wont work. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Haven't done much flying yet except from emptying and refilling the DW and putting the WM on. Have got my friend's LO (C) again today so we have been for a picnic in the park which was very nice. My LO and C are now in bed asleep and DD1's having a chill out time so I'm having a little sit down too. I was really busy at work last night so I'm feeling a bit tired now we've had a busy morning too.
Can't do the master bedroom right now as C is asleep in there. What a great excuse!!!;)
Got a mountain of ironing to do tonight so will do a bit in the bedroom later.
Huge Hugs LL. Thinking of you and sending lots of coping vibes and feeling well vibes. xx
Michelle...Hugs for you too. Is it possible to take a year out at all. I know of a few friends who have gone back to work with two LO's and ended up stressed out, overworked and generally stretched too thin. One of them quit her job (funnily enough she was a secondary school teacher too) and the other was allowed to take a career break... 12 months off work, unpaid, but at least it gave her some breathing space for a while without having to actually leave for good. Don't know if that's possible for you or not. Your boys are still so young and no doubt hard work at the ages they are at now. This does not make you a bad teacher...just a very busy teacher, mum, wife, housekeeper, cook, cleaner, etc, etc, etc,. who is trying to be the best she can be at everything. x0 -
soappie - you seem to have far too much time on your hands... there's plenty of flying and gardening to be done here if you need something to do. Or you could take BB for a walk to get in training for the weekend
It's far too hot for us both out there at the moment. I made the mistake of taking her out a couple of days ago when it was almost as hot and although she seemed to enjoy it, I think she got far too hot. Took her ages to recover when we got home - she was panting away really fast and looking quite weary. She snuggled up on the bed at the moment snoozing.
I have just had lunch so it's off to the gardenI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Massive hugs LL - your attitude is a real credit to you. I'm sure you have your moments but you're so strong - a real inspiration. Hugs to you . Can't wait to see piccies of your kittens! Have you got names for them yet?
Michelle - hugs to you. Can you change the type of teaching you do? Change year group? Tutor privately? Do supply teaching? Teach adults? Sorry, these are just rambling thoughts and i'm sure you've thought of them all. I really feel for teachers. We live in a 'nice' area and some of the children at this school are AWFUL. No respect at all but then you meet the parents and you realise why!
Going to look at the list now and do something. Spent the morning at the hospice...it's so lovely to be back there. It really felt like going home.
Speak soon xx0 -
Michelle, I so feel for you. I have been a similar position recently, altho not a teacher and the work itself was fine, but working was making me very ill and I've had to give up working. It was a really hard decision, but I am very relieved that I've done it. Listen to your heart, and put your health and happiness first. You and your family is more important than any job. I'm not telling you to give up work as this is your choice and things might improve at work and you might be fine in a while.
I dont think you are a bad teacher, it sounds like there are problems with the children. It only takes one bad kid to work the class up and turn them against the teacher. What does your head and the other teachers say? How do the other staff feel who are in the class with you? I bet they find it really stressful too and I bet they dont blame you for what happens.
Lady Liberty big hugs for you. Try to enjoy yourself as much as possible from now on :A
Ive remade most of the bed, just the duvet to do now. And Ive hung out the washing. I feel like I've worked really hard today. Im really tired now. Going to have a nap, and then I need to think about dinner. I found some lamb chops in the freezer, and some readymade roast potatoes so I think we will have them. Our freezer is stupidly full, and I'm trying to get it emptier so I can do more batch cooking!
ETA: Sorry LL, I forgot to say, DH is a gardener - he does all heavy jobs like fences, trees, hedge cutting, grass mowing as well as the lighter things occasionally. As he works for himself its important that people know about him, and this phone book ad seems to be the right way to advertise!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."
