Hi All
Welcome back carlberggal
soappie that's great news about the book
Rose good for DH, what does he do?
Update on my hospital visit yesterday...they have in their wisdom decided surgery is too risky, the afected nodes are on my bladder & bowel, so with all the blood vessels involved it would likely spread the 'nasty' cells faster. My option is too maintain for 3 months..ie: they will measure the growth rate, plus the ones in the lungs...then try chemo....I have been told there is no cure, so the best I can do is hope my quality of life stabilises.
Only 2 more hours before I collect my kittens, so very excited about that.
Flying.......sorted out DH's winter clothes...charity bagged as much as I can & made sure the summer clothes are ready.....no doubt it will rain now!
Hugs to all

Michelle just had to reply....you are not a bad teacher...it is the circumstances /children that are causing this.
My DD is a year 3 teacher & goes through spells of feeling hopeless etc, but deep down she loves the job.
I guess what I am trying to say is 'Look after yourself & your LO's first' I know it's not long since your maternity leave...do you wish or have the option of spending some time at home.....then maybe go back to teaching when your LO's are a bit older? Only you can really decide..but I just wanted you to know I feel for you & I'm sure you will make the right decision (((hugs))).....plus I need you on FB to return my requests!! xx“Cancer has my body but not my spirit, and I’ll continue to make jokes, not so much about cancer, but in spite of it” Irwin Barker0 -

G&B - glas LO doing good. Two of my children have had hernia ops, DS was ok, he had it done at 3 months old, DD1 had umbilical hernia from birth, operated at 2 years old and then again at 6 years as wouldn't go away. Now has a complete round scar round her tummy button.
LL, my thoughts are with you.
Michelle, your not a bad teacher, you sound ace. Can't your head do anything?
I'm sat in a sweltering estate agents office, we have huge windows and is just like a greenhouse in here. Have the doors open but then can't hear when I'm on the phone because of the passing traffic! Can't wait for 5.30. It's dead here because of the lovely weather. To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0 -

emergency run with lunch to school on the bus and back and now its too hot to bother with.....will catch up later:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
Thanks for the hugs guys. I'm still sat here in tears and it is completely wrong that any job can do this to someone. My heart is saying stay at home with the boys. My head knows if i leave it will be for good. A very wise colleague said to me don't decide to quit at the end of a bad day. Do it on a good one.
Lady L - you have such a positive attitude with all that is happening to you at the moment. I wish you the best possible health vibes i can muster. I will still send you lots of FB requests whatever my decision.
I am not sure what to do with myself. DH says just quit and have done with it.My head hurts from thinking.

Hi guys
Hi Carlsbergal nice to see you again :hello:
Michelle awww love I really feel for you, first of all it's not you it's the kids/school keep telling yourself that over and over. I don't pretend to know anything about teaching but I presume you train to teach a certain age group? Is it possible for you to take time out for a couple of years and maybe re-train for a younger age group if you feel you want you?
Rosepink Glad you didn't have to go into work, I can feel the relief from here
LL (((((((hugs))))))) you're very brave, I don't know anything about stuff like that but I didn't like the sound of 'no cure'....will the chemo zap it? and hurrah for new kittens, hope they don't drive you round the bend like Lily AKA the Devil incarnate does! I'm sure it's not right to be terrified of opening the door to 'it's lair' feels like I'm unleashing Evil :rotfl:
Grateful hope your DD gets better soon x
Work done, her house is beautiful, mine isn't!Still it's a work in progress and it's 100% better than it used to be. Littley is currently S&Sing the kitchen - not out of the goodness of her heart I hasten to add, she's after some coppers to put towards a Hannah Montana (waste of good money) cushion.
Need to hang out the bedding and do - stuff.0 -
Sorry to hear you've had a rough time Michelle, my sis is also a teacher and i've seen her sob after a bad day or experience. I agree with your wise colleague, don't quit on a bad day-go out on a higher note if you decide to leave!!
So far i've managed all levels on the bedroom and cleaned the en suite too. Now i think i'll pop to sainsburys and then start on the Kitchen..!Debt to clear: feels endless...
Weight loss to go: 42lb/13.5lb
Maybe someday i'll be skinny, organised and debt free..

Michelle - if it's making you this unhappy, and your DH is prepared to support your decision to quit, then quit. Spend time with your boys while they're small, and when you start feeling the need to do more, then decide what it is you want to do. If you need to do something for yourself in the meantime, you can think about voluntary work once you've settled down - and to get your confidence back. As others have said, it's NOT you, it's the kids. It takes a specific kind of person to deal with children like that, and I for one am quite relieved to find that you aren't one of them!
L-L - huge hugs. I can't imagine how you must be feeling, but you seem to be taking a very positive approach.
GnB - are you OK
soappie - you seem to have far too much time on your hands... there's plenty of flying and gardening to be done here if you need something to do. Or you could take BB for a walk to get in training for the weekend
I suppose I should do some work :rolleyes:0
