This is my first try at one of these, inspite of being here for ages I have always focussed on making repayments and go through cycles of saving and splurging.
so I guess what I am saying is be kind!

Hi Buffy
Not sure this will help  but you seem to be doing really well already :j My 'beauty' spends are far higher than this
As so many others have said, don't be so hard on yourself  You are making all your regular payments so your debts are going down, don't let the fact that you have debts hold you back from living life now, don't keep everything on holdSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Glad others were ok with my post phew.
Ref guinea pigs. Yes I know they are cute. BUT they are another tie on you. The pets are just a distraction because you are so happy. So use the money you would spend on the guinea pigs to get you out of debt quicker. Then when you move to your new house or whatever you can have a nice pair off Wol2!
Ref the budget. I always feel that toiletries except deodrant are a bit of a waste of time. But then I don't wear makeup and only use water to wash my face with, so I never spend on things like toner anyway. Of course it you know that if you eat healthier you would have better skin maybe so you woldn't need 'spot cream'.......
That was one thing i wondered about on your budget. There is no entry for food other than takeaway...Is this because you buy with your mum? If this is the case is she buying stuff that supports healthy living or not? If she isn't then you need to talk to her about this. If there is nothing healthy to eat then the default becomes eating unehealthily..
Also just because your rent covers all bills, doesn't meant to say you couldn't check that you are getting the best deals for all of these. That way if you make savings perhaps you could reduce the amount you pay a month. And then that is more towards the debts.
I hope you have a llovely time on holiday. Fingers crossed for the weather.

:rotfl:Had to laugh at this, because my guineas, are usually buy one and get one free..then they become like tribbles and breed constantly.:rotfl:
I do miss them though and no i don't want any at present.:p
Hope you are having a good day Buffy:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Just a quick post to say hi (computer still not fully functioning)
I see you're going up and down right now, but i agree with Chev - you need to declutter your life/goals/priorities rather than your room. You are already taking on so much so i don't see where you could get the idea you could do more from. You need to work on the smaller goals and get them out the way before adding anything else to them.
I'm procrastinating all the time and am usually left breathless by what you've done let alone plan on doing. Don't run yourself in to the ground. You time is just as important as dealing with the debts so make sure you get plenty of it - i can relate to the trapped feeling at home but haven't found a solution yet. Don't suppose sister could take mum away for a short break somewhere (or is that too much bonding for her)?
Although you're living at home, it might be worth filling in the SOA calculator to make sure there isn't anything you've missed.
Take care.

Hey Buffy, hope you had a great time in Weybiza. Have to say that I agree with others re getting more pets, they will tie you to home & it doesnt sound like that's the best place for you to be right now.
If you earn enough to comfortably make your payments & a bit more each month then you're doing well.
Love yourself hon, you're a fabulous woman, enjoy living & stop feelinng guilty about it.
