Flat screen tv

Options
Hi not sure if this is the right place to post this appologies if not.

My current t.v is old and I'm thinking of getting a flat screen one. I'm not bothred about 50" full hd fandangoe's just somthing like a 32 to 37" flat screen one.

Do i get plasma or lcd and why are the likes of Toshiba 2 to 3 hundred pounds more than say an L.G for the same size screen. They must be better quality surly or is it just paying for the name.

well im guesing you budget driven?
so how much do you want to spend?

    also, you will want lcd

anything else will be expensive and pointless at the size you after

finally many factor decide the price of the tv so the toshys you viewed are probably mid to high range as i dont think they do a cheap range whereas other manufacturers do 5-6 ranges varying in cost for all budgets.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Thanks guys i would spend around £400 i would imagine as the toshiba's we saw were around that price and the l.g's were around mid £200. I have got a portable tosh in the bedroom had it for a year it's only 19" but i have been happy with it. I thought better buy quality and as Tosh has been around for some time thought i would spend a fair bit and see how it went.

The tv i have at present is a Sanyo had it for around 7 years never broken down but i think they must have gone bust because i can't see any in the shops.

chez22 What make is the Aldi one. No disrespect but if i can i like to buy named one's. I had the misfortune to buy a Beko once and never again in fact i won't buy any Beko product it spent more time at repair shop than in my front room. Think they are made in Turkey. As a final note i allsaw like to buy British too if it is quality

Check out Richer Sounds. They normally have pretty competitive prices, and you can buy a 5 year warranty for 10% of the purchase price.

So much to choose from could spend all week looking.

Will probably be R.sounds as we don't have a John Lewis where i live.I visited J.l last week whilst staying in Nottingham heard some good raps about after sales service from a friend who bought from them.

Don't get hung up on all the latest spec's, buy a quality brand that'll last, because at the rate things are going, whatever you buy is going to be obsolete in 6 months time anyway.

I'm sticking with my old 28" CRT Trinitron KV until things slow down a bit.....
And it will slow down, because at the moment the "dog is having it's day", the major manufacturers are 10 maybe 20 years ahead on the current technology, they're just drip feeding it to us to squeeze out as much profit as possible.
