  • Hi - does anyone think that the Stardrops or Starclen would be suitable to clean a gas barbecue? Have spent a fortune on barbecue cleaners that don't work. I assume they shift grease and burnt on bits if they clean ovens. Which one would be best? Ta

I spilt coffee on my living room carpet (again) last week and have tried removing the stain with 1001, Fairy Liquid, expensive Aussie stuff from Sainsbury's, bio wash liquid and none of them have made a scrap of difference. Can't cover with a rug this time :o as it's in the wrong place. I'll be replacing the carpet next year when my back boiler and gas fire are replaced so I'm stuck until then.
Had a brainwave this morning and have tried Stardrops :j . Now waiting for carpet to dry and stain to be vanished. Oh, and I also tried Vanish - NBG

Dora - did this work?

dunno about stardrops on BBQ but a solution of hot water and soda crystals is fab ,i use it on the hob / oven / BBQ etc

cuts through grease easily and even baked on food etc :)

im sure someone said on here they used stardrops on their oven though so im sure it would work on your BBQ :)
  • Hi Rachie - how much soda crystal to water do you use - is it per the packet?

    Morrisons have Stardrops -- 600ml--- for 75p.

Another product to try is Tesco value Toilet cleaner.

Only 26p and works like the other brands.

It's in a white flattish bottle with value label. 750ml for ONLY 26p. !

    It's a thick green liquid

  • :j we have been cleaning on the patio some of my daughters outside toys that have been in the shed all winter (using stardrops of course). once finished we noticed the patio slabs which were rather dirty came out a lovely original sandy colour without ant effort at all. inspired we wased down the whole patio with stardrops a yard brush and hotwater and heypresto the stardrops has brought my patio stones back to their original colour for only 78p fantastic

Not as inventive as Scottygirl, but I finally washed my windows and outdoor paintwork with stardrops and it looks fab & no effort at all.

i used stardrops many years ago and cannot remember why i stopped , this thread has brought me back to it , melamine floors have come up looking cleaner and with a sheen using stardrops , they look far better than when i used the specialized £2. 99 laminate cleaner, my goal is to reduce the bottles of assorted cleaners under my sink to stardrops and a couple of microfibre clothes.
:hello:What goes around - comes around
