Bought some Stardrops yesterday and must say I'm also impressed. Used it on the floors and they are nice and clean and they dried very quickly- don't know if this is down to the stardrops
Also bought and empty bottle to make up some solution for windows/mirrors. Is it best with white vinegar or can you get away with just Stardrops+water (and what would be the best quantities for just water/Stardrops solution?)
    thanks
    Laura :D

I find that Stardrops and water can leave smears so use about an inch of Stardrops, same of vinegar & top it up with water in a spray bottle. It brings everything up beautifully. I've just had Dh & DS2 take the top off the glass dining table to clean the underneath of it with this same solution :D It's come up lovely & shiny :T HTH

Darn, guess that means i need vinegar before I can do the windows  Does anyone know if adding a couple of drops of essential oil works to counteract the the vinegar smell? Not sure I fancy the vinegar smell? If so, what oil works well? :D
  • I bought stardrops yesterday, just used it to clean the filthy windows in the living room (practically couldn't see out for the muck on them... other than where the neighbourhood kids wrote their names, haha) and they've come up lovely. Has anyone had any luck cleaning the outside of a car with stardrops? I have loads of car cleaner at the moment, but I also cant wait to just have one bottle of cleaner for everything. :)

I wont use anything else, Stardrops always for window. There is a cloudy white stardrops as well.

You should only wash cars with Car Shampoo apparently (advice from a Car Painter)

Did you ask why? Not getting at you, but I suspect bad advice from the car painter.

Probably a case of him not really knowing but covering his backside.

If he'd said you could wash it with anything you may have gone back to him and said "Oiy mate, on your advice I washed my car with domestos, now the paint has peeled off"

By telling you only to use a product that is made for the job, if it goes wrong the manufacturer is to blame.

I also suspect manufacturers are conning us by bringing out specific products to clean specific things.

One product to clean your work tops, another to clean the kitchen sink, another to clean the bath and then another to clean the bathroom sink.

I bet it's the same stuff in a different bottle, so we buy 4 bottles instead of 1 !!!

Went into Poundland today and found Stardrops cream cleaner (500ml) and Zoflora (120 ml).
My message to that greedy wunch of bankers:
Debts another fine mess you got us into!

If you see somone who hasn't got a smile, give them one of yours.
  • Just wanted to say, further to my 'discovery' of Stardrops the other day, I just used it to clean the hob that has had icky burned on dirt since before we moved in. None of the regular cleaners would shift it, and elbow grease did nothing either.

Left some neat stardrops on it, and with a little scrub it is now gleaming. There's a few specks of dirt left as I was being impatient and cleaned it off before I should have, but at first glance it looks like a new hob. Well done, Stardrops!

My OH works in body repair trade and they all say the same. Apparently the detergents in Fairy are too strong. If you put it in your washer bottle you can see the the marks on your bonnet over time. Ive seen that on my older cars that I wasnt bothered about. Car shampoo isnt that expensive and it contains wax to make it shine.
