Stardrops..I have seen the light!

I've been wondering.... how is stardrops *old style*?

Also, I had a look at a bottle the other day and noticed that it's an irritant. I think I'll stick to washing up liquid or soap for my cleaning.0 -
Sorry if this has been asked before - I'm in Spain and I can't get hold of Stardrops but I can find Zoflora - is it as good???
Thanks

I guess it's old style because it's been around since our Grannies were using it, it's also cheap and you only use a tiny amount at a time.I've been wondering.... how is stardrops *old style*?

It may be an irritant but you have to remember it's very concentrated in the bottle so when it's diluted down I'd imagine it's no more irritating than your average washing-up liquid or household cleaner. I think just about every cleaner could be classed as an irritant unless you buy totally natural?
In fact Stardrops is one of the few things that I can use without getting itchy, sore red hands.
Edit: I've just had a look at my bottle of Stardrops & it doesn't say anywhere that it's an irritant?Dum Spiro Spero0 -

Not the same thing at all. Stardrops can be used for cleaning (and is very good) whereas Zoflora is more of a disinfectant. I love Zoflora and use it in the bin etc, but I don't think it would be any good as a cleaning agent.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Ammonia is not bleach - please don't make the mistake of mixing the two, it will give off a very toxic gas!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Thanks for your reply. It's a shame household cleaners don't have to list the ingredients like cosmetics do, I'd love to see them.
The bottle I saw in Asda definitely had the big cross with the word Irritant underneath it. I see someone above mentioned stardrops with ammonia, so maybe that was the one I looked at (although it was the only type on the shelf).

I use the one with amonia to clean my floors as I find it foams less. It used to be called Starclen but they've just changed it.
WinkyRight now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0 -
I agree about products not listing ingredients, I've got a bottle of Ecover washing-up liquid and a bottle of their fabric conditioner and even they don't list the ingredients, you have to visit their website to find out what's in them. Thanks for your reply. My bottle of Stardrops is one of the old shapes, maybe the new ones have a different label?Dum Spiro Spero0 -

Ah, ok. I don't have much knowledge of chemicals at all....I wouldn't EVER mix cleaners anyways, because I have a limited understanding of chemistry...So what's the difference between bleach and ammonia? And is one more harmful than the other? Or are they both just as bad? I thought they were both clorine based products but, like I said, I have no clue when it comes to chemistry!
