  • FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other bidders have withdrawn their offer after finding out about all the probs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Should' be exchanging today so will keep you all posted!!

I agree with posters comments about repossessed houses not always being about a family losing their life savings as sometimes I think people lose their homes down to stupidty!!! (and I did say SOMETIMES!!) The people that had this house remortgaged every year borrowing more every time until they were mortgaged up to the hilt!!

I work for a bank and it frustrates me when people get into a huge amount of debt on creditcards etc then blame the banks when all they have done is lived the life of riley for a couple of years without thinking about the consequences!!
  • You don't think it's constructive because it's not what you want to hear. I don't blame you for getting this house, and at the best possible price, but whether its stress from the process or just the way you are, you do sound a bit hysterical. If you can't take opinions different to your own, I suggest you stop ranting like a lunatic on a public forum. Calm down and just get on with buying your house.

Erm...... I really dont think there is any need to turn personal..... I am not a hysterical person so no it isnt 'just the way I am' and I take offence to that comment. I think anybody in the same situation would be stressed over the turn of events and when I didnt know what action to take, I came on this forum for some constructive advise so I would appreciate it if you would do just that but if you have got nothing constructive to say then I think coming on here saying I am 'ranting like a lunatic' is just plain nasty.

I've not had experience of buying repos myself but it seems that they are very similar to those other feeding frenzy properties- sealed bids (and sometimes auctions.)

Of those I have had experience and basically it is one long wild goose chase. I've seen sealed bid properties where there was a one hour viewing slot and it was like a car boot sale- about 100 people turned up. A complete waste of time- I have wasted hours of my life on this "one and done" nonsense and never once has it come to anything.

So I suppose in some ways, you just have to accept that it goes with the territory when you're buying this kind of property, the chances of success may be slim and you may very well end up wasting your time. Just accept it, go with the flow, regard it as a shot to nothing and you will save yourself alot of angst.

Oh leave her alone. Of course she is frantic, she has her heart set on a house for her family (which she has put alot of time and money into) and wants to make sure she gets it. She doesn't sound like she is ranting, nor does she sound like a lunatic. You however, sound like a right 'orrible old fart.

If you cant be constructive, leave the thread.

Odds on you get this as well. These other buyers didn't look like they were serious, give it a couple of days maximum and you will get an answer, probably yes.

What a relief for you! Hope the exchange goes through today with no more hitches.

And for what it's worth, you didn't come across as hysterical in the least (not to me anyway).

Have you reverted to your original offer, then?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
