Its Saturday and the FA cup is on later so will curl myself up on the sofa and watch Everton kick Chelsea's backsides:rotfl:

In your dreams  And you a loyal Burnley fan, too :naughty: :footie:

I've been to the butchers for meat, so will be preparing a batch of sausage meat. DD is keen to help with the stuffing, so we'll be making plain pork, and pork/apple once she and her brother are back from swim club. We're planning to barbeque them later, on the chiminea.

Is anyone else having trouble getting hold of ricotta cheese  I couldn't get any in York, and friends I was out with last night hadn't been able to get any closer to home, either  I have spinach in the garden that I want to eat in a lasagne. If DH can't get any, I'll have to freeze it for later ;)

    Welcome back to D&DD!

    Old Style jobs for today:

  • Good morning all. Another glorious morning here. The sun is bright and it's quite warm already. I'd love to spend the morning just sitting in the garden with coffee, however much to do today. :(

On today's "to do" list is run to the hardware store to get a bit more magnolia paint to finish up the last flat. I have a bit of painting on the trim to do and hopefully that won't take long. Then I shall be done my part of the flats! :j:T:j I've enjoyed doing them up however I'm ready for a break for a bit.

DD's came to call yesterday afternoon. They had tea with us and one of the DDs did the cooking. :D She has this lovely pasta dish she makes so she showed me how to do it and it truly is super easy to do. I had the leftovers for brekkie this morning.

DD's and their 3 furbabies of the canine persuation are coming back this afternoon. We are taking all 4 pups to the beach for a good romp. I'm quite looking forward to it. DH will meet us at the beach after he finishes work.

They will spend the night with us and we are going to a wedding fayre tomorrow. This wedding is 3 years down the road, however they're trying to get ideas for what they want. I thought we'd be babysitting the furgrandkids, however we were informed that they want Ma and Dad's opinion. What sweethearts they both are.

Need to get a load of wash hanging and the next in. Off to get the paint next and finish that up. Then shopping for a few groceries as the cupboards, fridge and freezer are pretty bare at the moment.

    Hoping everyone enjoys their day.

    Hugs,
    Peyton xxx

    Good Morning Everyone,
what a beautiful day it is today, the sun is out and a slight breeze is blowing. I am tempted to take the covers off my sofa for a wash, should get them dry and back on by tonight. Still got my cough and bunged up head and have forgotten what its like to be without it now. Still it will go when its ready I expect.
I think I will do some baking this morning and maybe a little gardening this afternoon .I am hoping my grandson will be round to cut my small patch of lawn tomorrow so I had better get the edges done. All of my flowers are in pots on the patio so I don't have to bend too far to weed them which is good.
My SC casserole yesterday was delicious, and I had some for dinner last night, and had enough for two portions for the freezer.Pretty good really as it was only some yellow stickers stewing steak and only cost £1.29. There was quite a bit of gravy left so I have portioned that up as well and frozen for future use.
The two DGS that I had yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours were very good .We went to the library and they changed their books and then went to the park for an hour.A slow walk to the ice cream shop finished off our afternoon beautifully.
I have a little ironing to do, but I shall save that to do whilst I am watching the finals of BGT tonight.
I have started to read 'A Thousand Spendid Suns' and am really enjoying it. Well, time to get a wriggle on I have a couple of bananas just going a bit over so I think I'll make a banana custard for pudding tonight. I am going to delve into my freezer and see what goodies I can find for dinner I think there is some salmon in there so that with some new potato's and salad will be quite nice.
I hope everyone has a good day, and the sun shines for us all over the week-end
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Morning all,
I finished DF's bedroom y/day, I was exhausted by time I finished it, the heat was taking all energy out of me, it was 24c in the room as it faces south and the was no wind. Got home at 5pm after moving their furniture back in, cleaned rollers, brushes and trays then had a much needed shower, did dinner then babysat DGD. Fell into bed at 12.45am.
I'm having DGD at 1pm today and she is sleeping here tonight as DD2 & SiL2b are going to a wedding. Ehmm I use the word "sleeping" loosely.

Have been to Morries for BBQ stuff and F&V, it was packed as I think everyone had the same idea, go shopping before it gets too hot.
Today is ust the normal catching up on chores, vacume and chasing dust from one room to another.
THRIFTLADY, I looked those books up on Amazon and have added one of them to my wish list along with the 50's 60's and 70's scrapbooks, they look very interesting, thanks for the links.
Hope you all have a good w/end.

    :hello:Good morning!

    Lovely day here again.

Peyton - I hope you're being well paid for all your hard work on the flats! It must be veru satisying to see them looking so nice now though :D

D & DD - Welcome back! Have you moved house, or had building work done? I think I must have been away when youtold us about it. Glad the dust is settling anyway :D

redruby - Your DD sounds a sweetie, not surprising you're so proud of her :A
Penny_Pincher - Hope the meds will get sorted out soon and that you're not finding the heat too trying xx (no hugs today, it's much too hot :p)

MSD -Thinking of you, and you are being cared about and worried about by all who know you on here. Looking forward to seeing you when you feel like posting again xx

betheebee - I hope DGD will sleep well for you tonight.

JackieO - Have you considered that you may have hayfever? It can start at any age. Just a thought. It's just that if it's a cold it seems to have been going on for an awfully long time.

Today I plan - atm anyway - to cull my wardrobe. I've got some clothes I haven't worn for ages including the suit I wore for DD2's wedding and, at the other extreme, a t-shirt I bought last year in Milletts' Sale which looked awful when I put it on but I never got around to taking it back - it still has the tag on it. Charity shop here I come, provided i can persuade DH to take me down there in the car. I'm sick of there being stuff all over the place :wall: DH seems to have far more clothes than i have, and his shirts and T-shirts are in his wardrobe, on the door of his wardrobe, hanging on the door of the so-called "spare room" (if only!) and downstairs on the back on the dining room door, it's driving me nuts!

    Morning, lovely here today.
Peyton, enjoy the beach, there is just enough of a breeze to make it perfect.
Lesley, no panic about the mincemeat recipe, just post it when it turns up :kisses3:

I've taken Miss Twit to school, she has got a maths revision morning, ready for the maths GCSE on Monday
I've got some bedding to iron, I washed it at work last night and dried it a little, so it should be lovely to press, although why I want to be enveloped in steam on a day like today
Miss Twit has returned to being a veggie, so I'm off to my local greengrocer to stock up and having seen the slowcooker lemon cheese recipe, I might buy a few lemons. I'll also dig out my Rose Elliot recipe books and Gingham's meal planner threads.

Love and hugs to all :grouphug:

    Good morning

Just got back from Mr T's - had an early start as had to take OH to Salisbury. He's travelling to Manchester to work this weekend (and not happy about it as the weather's so good), will be back Monday evening.

So, I have a quiet weekend and plenty of time to catch up on gardening and hope to do some batch cooking.

Have a good weekend everyone, will catch up later.
