Call centres abroad

HSBC seem to use centres everywhere.
The last call was from the Phillipines.
The normal process seems to be for them to try and run through a script as quickly as possible, interrupting you constantly and deviating totally from the whole topic that you originally wanted to discuss.
Infuriating.
I have gone back to dealing with them in writing only now.0 -

I've been put through to call centres around the world. The rudest people I've been put through to so far have been from the UK and the US.
The US technical support refused to change my account to the right gender when I pointed out that I wasn't male.
The UK cases are too numerous.
The ones in India can be obtuse they are polite but I've found out after being with 3 that it's an act. As the Scottish call centre when I had a problem just kept redirecting me to another department until I was cut off, there as at the Indian call centre they pretended not to understand. Once I had the regulator involved in my case the people at the Indian call centre had no problems understanding my call.
I work with people from all over the world and it's funny to hear Indians who work in the UK (they are over on working visas) argue with banking call centres in India for Indian Banks. In addition even if there are quite a few staff in the building who speak different Indian languages it's amazing how the call centre operator only speaks English. :rolleyes:I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Which bank is it?
I work in a bank's UK call centre but, SHOCK HORROR, we do employ people of foreign origins.
Which i have no problem with.
But would you employ someone who couldn't drive to be a chauffeur? No. Similarly someone who can't speak good English shouldn't work in a call centre.0
