Has anyone been getting the message popping up on your tv saying that your new sky viewing card is on its way?

I have been getting this message for a week now and it pops up every hour, is there any way I can stop it other than pressing the button everytime it does it or will I have to ring Sky?

on ur remote press 1 of the services button until u see a menu like
sky settings etc..go into number 4.....thers a list saying
    1: picture settings
2:sound settings..find the one that says messages and disable it, mind and select at the bottom so it stores!
not sure if its in this menu just keep lookin its there!

All you need to do is simply disconnect your Sky box from the phone line.

These mesages are only sent via your phone line.

I've had Sky for two years now and have never connected it to the phone line, even while I was in the 12 month contract. I haven't received any of these annoying messages.

No, they're not!!! Both my Sky boxes which I'm useing as freeview have,in the past week, started showing the messages & neither are connected to a phoneline.Sky are doing it by box type/model & the message is piggybacked on to the EPG.When you're EPG refreshes,up pop's the message.

Although your correct it's nothing to do with the, its not linked with any EPG update either. Its simply an Over The Air (OTA) signal that is sent which tells the box the card is expiring and to start display the message (much like the kill/stay alive signal).

The only way known to get rid of it is replace or remove the card. If you are a subscriber and have Sky+ you can watch everything on time delay (pause for 5 mins then watch) and this stops the message but most subscribers should have a new card by now.

Having just noticed the date of the thread I do wonder why Crazycraigyboy felt the need to resurrect it!!!!
