That won't make a difference the messages are sent Over The Air (OTA).

You need to contact sky, sounds like your card has gone missing.

I had an email a few weeks back telling me that they are sending out the cards soon, and to follow the instruction on the letter. It also said that they will send a message on screen on the day dispatched, and if after a couple of days not recieved to contact them.

Message popped up on Monday and yesterday my cards arrived... The message has nothing to do with connected to the phone line, as mine haven't been connected for years. Its only recently that I've had the phone line re-connected. lol.

I have Sky + and Multiroom so have to stay connected to the phone line
    :(

I have a message box that keeps poping up once a week but its not for ne cards as we recently received ours. The message says "no messages have been sent to you" please click backup to cancel . I dont know what it means. Since they ditched their email tv years ago I didnt know there was such a thing as messaging one another

Hope you get your new viewing cards soon.

    Thanks :)

I'm sick to the teeth of the message, It has been interrupting my service for over a month, it is now popping up every 90 seconds, I have rang them non stop, they told me they would remove the sign within 24 hours that was 3 days ago and several calls later, they now tell me I should receive my new card tomorrow??? will see....
One operator said I had not even been placed on the list for a new card, another said it could arrive anytime until the end of September, I am gonna demand a months fee back I'm paying £48 a month for HD and haven't been able to view, I have even got repetitive strain injury.
Sick to the teeth of it.

All you need to do is simply disconnect your Sky box from the phone line.

These mesages are only sent via your phone line.

We were getting the messages every 5 minutes.
I phoned sky and they said they would send a signal to my box to stop the messages appearing.
I asked if my card was lost in the post, they said no, its not due to be sent out until september, MUPPETS.

Personally i think its just sky`s way of making a bit of extra money from having to telephone them to stop the messages.
Luckily i used the freephone number.

And here's me thinking that satellite signals were broadcast by satellite: I'm off to pull down my 1.4m dish: apparently I do not need it; all I need to do is connect my receiver to a phone socket!

I've had Sky for two years now and have never connected it to the phone line, even while I was in the 12 month contract. I haven't received any of these annoying messages.

The Messages are NOT sent via the phone line. Sky do not 'dial-up' their digiboxes to send them messages. The phone line is there for the Sky box to 'phone home' to advise Sky what Pay per view movies etc. you have watched as well as for interactive content.

All messages are sent encoded in the TV transmission and are targeted to specific batches of serial numbers.

Do you have the freephone number? All I can see is national rate (0870 etc). Ta!
