I'm not hating on men honest. But I kind of get sick at the self righetous people who seem to think that those of us who really do care about how we look choose to try and make us feel uncomfortable.

Just my attempt at a bit of humour but really, have you seen Michelle Heaton lately, eeeek!

Okay, I've been browsing for a while, and decided I'd get involved! Didn't think I was "fake" as such, but here's my list of "necessary help to look good"!:

    Fake Tan
Make up (always mascara, gloss and bronzer)
    Hair Extensions
    Waxing
    Coloured lenses

(and until v.recently acrylic nails! - trying to go au naturel on that one now!)

    Natural, with a capital N.

    Never worn makeup
Never worn perfume - smell of me washed clean everyday
Only started shaving legs at the age of 38 - due to peer pressure at the school gate! Even then only when legs are going on show.
Always feel best with shiny hair, and a big smile:D

    Don't wear jewellery either.
And I am drunk on a glass of wine - so my husband reckons I'm really cheap to run!
    All very MSE!

Wow, I didn't know you could get eyelash extensions! It is really interesting to read this thread and see all that others do.

I tidy my eyebrows and shave all the bits and bobs, but other than that I just get my hair trimmed every three or four months to keep the ends in good condition (my husband does this for me:) ) I have long hair (bum length) that is mid blonde and getting a lot lighter due to my natural silver/white highlights coming in - I love these and have no plans on dyeing them away.

I don't wear any make up, nail varnish or fake tan. I like using coconut oil for my hair and skin care, if going outdoors I wear sunscreen.

So I guess I am pretty low maintenance:)
  • What a great thread! :j Heres me ...

Fake tan - the gradual tanning ones cos i'm scared of the real thing!
    Acrylic nails
    Coloured hair
    Wax my ladybits ;)
    Shave underarms and legs
    Pluck eyebrows
Boobs unfortunately my own :o Bf'ding 2 kids has done them no favours!
    Wear makeup almost everyday
    Painted toenails always
No tattoos yet but getting one done soon

  • I'm not very fake i don't think. I would wear light make up on a night out and keep my nails manicured luckily they are naturally long and strong :) And of course i get rid of unwanted hairs!

I used to be super fake i suppose and when i look at pictures i cringe lol i always had my spray tan done, extensions with blonde and dark, heavy eye make up too much bronzer etc etc but i just got fed up with it and also i wasn't enhancing what i already had i think i just wasn't happy with what i had, until now :) since i've become more natural i've noticed the condition of my hair and skin are soooooooo much better that i feel more confident going without foundation most days.

I do have my belly pierced.

And in the future i would like breast enlargement surgery/cosmetic surgery/boob job lol. It is one part of my body i feel changed tooooo much after the birth of my daughter and i will certainly consider the surgery but i have told myself i have to think about it and research it for five years (Oh so long!). At least after that length of time i'll be sure if it's really what i want :)

*ooohhh newly discovered forum type area thingy!!!*

I would consider myself relatively low maintenance, but let's see how the list looks!

Hair cut and died about 3 times a year or when I can afford (grey is streaking through, and on very dark brown hair, it is quite noticeable!!!)

Shaving - usual, don't think I need to divulge the details but use your imagination ;)

Make up - I go to work a lot of days wearing no make up. SOmetimes a dusting of face powder and blush. Depends how much time I have in the morning. I worked abroad when i was teenager, and found people accepted me as I was, and also found me attractive without it, so I don't feel bare or like a tramp going without. Going out I would generally wear "full" make up, but it wouldn't be blindingly obvious apart from my eye make up - which depends on mood. Can take make up or leave it, I am comfortable people seeing me with or without!

    Moisturising and exfoliating as required.

Tidy up of eyebrows every few weeks

Piercings - Navel, Nose (tiny stud, since age 16),Lip pierced with hoop, tongue pierced, Ears done twice in each ear, with the cartiledge done on one ear (9 total)

Tattoos - not yet but will definitely get one. I wouldnt want it visible to the every day eye, something like a celtic heart in a discreet place, not sure of the details yet .

Things I haven't done (and wouldnt interest me)

    Fake nails
Fake hair (unless for medical reasons I had lost my hair or something traumatic, would see at the time)
    Sunbed
    Fake tan
    Fake eyelashes
    Tattooed make up
    Botox
    Eyelash extensions etc
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
