How fake are you?

Now finances mean we can no longer afford it and she loooks so much better.
I presume that she agrees with this.I cringe when I see 30+ women with fake tan/nails etc. They look so much older.
This is a matter of opinion, if the treatments are done properly it shouldn't be the case and it certainly isn't with me and my friends or we wouldn't do it.This thread has made me very sad, especially the number of women having boob jobs.
I started this thread so women/men could have a comparison and maybe learn something new or ask any questions they wanted to, it was meant to be interesting and I believe that has been achieved. I certainly wouldn't want to make anyone feel sad or negative in anyway and would politely suggest that other threads might be more suited to you if this one makes you feel that way:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

It hasn't been that though has it? All I see is a one upmanship,
Poster 1 I have fake nails
Poster 2 well i have fake hair too
Poster 3 well I have fake nails, fake hair AND fake boobs!
The pressure women are under to look like Miss Price is pretty shocking.
My wife has lost friends as she no longer looks like a WAG in training. Women are so competative. I think she is better off with her low maintainace pals.0 -

I don't feel this way, I would be interested to know if anyone who has posted on this thread does feel this way, there have been lots of people who are natural or more natural than others, their comments and opinions are as valid and interesting as anyone else's - many posters have actually said "what an interesting thread" that in itself would suggest your comment is in the minority. The pressure women are under to look like Miss Price is pretty shocking.
By Miss Price I presume you mean Katie Price (or Jordan) as a woman with my own mind I do not aspire to look like anyone other than my best possible self, yes, there are women who do aspire to look like various celebrities just as there has been for years long before Katie Price etc. I would always urge women to be inspired by other women, not just in beauty matters, but to remain true to themselves. Women who do feel pressurised to look like a celebrity could read this thread and be inspired by the natural posters who would all appear to be very happy with themselves. My wife has lost friends as she no longer looks like a WAG in training.
They were quite plainly not real friends in the first place.I think she is better off with her low maintenance pals.
I'm sure you do.
Whilst a different point of view is respected and adds to the thread I wouldn't like to think that the women who choose to have lots of beauty treatments are made to feel bad about this choice, as I have said before in this thread most women like to look what they consider to be their best for themselves and other peoples opinions of this comes second:).Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

You must have read a different thread to me.......My wife has lost friends as she no longer looks like a WAG in training. Women are so competative. I think she is better off with her low maintainace pals.
As Glowgirl says, they probably weren't friends in the first place. But does your wife feel the same way that you do about her "low maintenance" look?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I don't consider myself "fake", but I do take care of and have pride in my appearance. Routine maintenance includes:
Colour hair - used to be blonde & highlighted but got too expensive & hair was in poor condition, so now gone darker. Usually done at home with salon visit for special occasion.
Regular haircut, usually about 4-6 week intervals.
Shave legs (am trying to get courage to wax, but am a bit of a wimp!)
Shave pits & lady bits every other day.
Pluck eyebrows - used to have them waxed but haven't yet found salon I like in Blackpool!
False tan for special occasions, occasionally use self-tan to start off for summer.
Paint toenails - always!
Manicure for special occasions - have good strong nails but type so much at work that I find nail varnish gets chipped really quickly.
Makeup - evenings & occasions, usually just lippy & eyeliner / mascara daily.
No implants, tattoos or piercings apart from one in each ear2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'm so low-maintenance I think I've slipped into slob-territory.
I've never coloured or permed my hair but I'm a natural blonde with natural curls, so I've never felt the need. I do have grey coming in at the temples so have bought a colour close to my real one but haven't been brave enough to try it because I fear the root-tinting merry-go-round.
Stopped plucking my eyebrows because I can't damned-well see properly with or without my glasses on.
Stopped shaving my legs and other bits and pieces because I always wear trousers and sleeves and have given up hope of anyone ever wanting to see me naked ever again. Doing this pretty-much ensures it any way.
However, I always wear full make-up when leaving the house and always wear scent even if I don't because I only wear it for myself.
Never had a massage, nail-jobbie and don't really understand what eyelash extensions are or how they could be done, and fake tan looks horrible on me, I'm too fair.
I think I need to save up and have something nice done, just to feel normal0 -
I don't think anyone can judge what makes another happy. If having breast implants improves someone's quality of life (Nikki Graham, although a Big Brother contestant and 'utter celebrity scum', had implants because her anorexia at a young age stopped her boobs developing properly and she felt incomplete without them), then why begrudge them having the procedure? Not everyone fits into this 'orange skinned, big fake boobs, air brained' mould. I think it's a terrible, terrible thing that a women can't have a fake tan without certain people thinking she's a wannabe WAG with no common sense. It makes me mad!!
Anyway. I have my hair highlighted about 4 times a year, a cut and finish every 8 weeks, I wear make up every day, adore nail varnish and change my colour about twice a week! I have my legs and eyebrows waxed, I do pilates and a dance class and I use whitening toothpaste. That doesn't make me fake or stupid and I wouldn't be a better person without it all.0 -
Oh and I think the comment about tattoos stinks. It's unabashed snobbery. If you don't like tattoos, no worries, but don't make terribly mis-informed judgments about those who have them. My boyfriend is covered, as are most of my male and female friends, and not a single one would dare spit anything, never mind tobacco!0

I think the thing about tattoos is an age-thing as well as class. A lot of my closest pals are into the heavy music just like me so some of them have full sleeves etcetera and I have none and no piercings either,. One of my American female friends has almost everything tattooed including her legs. And she's a nurse. But I don't want them although I can appreciate that some of my friends' work is truly beautiful and I reckon the reason is my upbringing: my mother always said that only a certain type of woman has tattoos and I never aspired to be that type, even though these days having a tattoo
is hardly edgy when even middle-aged gals have tramp-stamps. I think I'm in danger of becoming edgy by default by not having any.0 -

What type would that be, then?0
