LOL first 3 with 3Like Home, now o2 joins the bandwagon........from tomorrow you can call & cancel your o2 !!!

Thanks to HiEveryone for the heads up on o2's changes ! ( I have edited their original post below to show how this WILL effect you )

o2 are removing chargeable bolt ons as of Saturday 30th May except;

* unlimited web
* unlimited wi-fi
* o2 family

The other bolt ons will be available as your free of charge one with your tariff, but you will not be able to add/change on any chargeable ones as your usage changes for your remaining contract term.

Any customer who has them at the moment will be honoured, you just cant change your account to add a " chargeable discontinued " bolt-on, again as your usage changes for your remaining contract term you will no longer have the flexibility to change/buy such £7.50 bolt-ons to your pricepla/tariff to fit your needs over remaining contract term = higher bills = "disadvantage" = CANCELLATION FEE FREE !

Grabbed the o2 Tariff & Bolt on T&C :

"Customers on eligible tariffs can choose as many Paid for Bolt Ons as they wish from the available selection"

"Paid for Bolt Ons Terms - (includes iPhone customers)

Paid for Bolt Ons can only be taken with post 1st February 2008 tariffs and O2’s Pay Monthly tariffs for iPhone. O2 reserves the right to withdraw or amend these offers at any time on reasonable notice. Participating customers will receive 30 days notice via text message if changes are made to their disadvantage"

Well if you are within your minimum contract term then any change not to be able to buy these bolt-on's anymore is to any applicable customers remaining contract term a "disadvantage" -

Thats a breach of T&C & as per o2 Airtime T&C section 8.4 c - ( ) CANCELLATION applies with 30 days notice to o2, or PAC out in 2 days after asking for your PAC when giving such 30 days notice ;)

Vodafone must be gleeful this month with o2 & 3 shafting customers to leave !, Voda are giving a free phone with any 30 days sim only contract, Voda online store free mobile promotion code : free231voda (enter at checkout) vodafone-231-02.jpg

    This doesn't seem to be a cause to cancel as far as I can see. The bolt-ons are added extras you pay for on top of your basic contract, and as such can be dropped at any time if/when the price/T&Cs changes for them. It's not like 3, as they were ditching an integrated part of the T&Cs.

    No its a disadvantage to your remaining contract term - you can no longer buy £7.50 bolt ons as your needs change over remaining contract term, read the two pdf's I posted - o2 have gave customers a watertight "disadvantage" to cancel LOL

    " and as such can be dropped at any time " no they cant via both o2's own T&C I posted above - o2 must give 30 days notice of such, the change takes place tomorrow and no-one got 30 days notice of this "disadvantage" ( a breach of contract in itself ) as o2 KNOW via o2's AIRTIME AGREEMENT that it states YOU the o2 customer can CANCEL.

    A disadvantage/detriment to a contract by law means paying 1 pence more than agreed with no clause allowing so for such increases that your mobile contract term ( excluding RPI index & roaming costs as these are external to mobile company ) that was not agreed to, any 1p change justifies cancellation on these grounds.

    o2 are being as sneaky & sly as 3 over 3LH.

    I have cancelled, Voda, Orange, 3 & now o2 in the last few years over disadvantage/detrimental T&C changes &/or the failure to notify me of such via 30 days notice ( as set by contract law ).

    The only ones whom seem to be watertight T&C are T-Mobile.

    Can you explain why you have posted several times on an existing thread about this, and started a new one as well?

    And why are you posting what looks like either Vodafone affiliate referrals, or invalid voucher codes?

    And what the ??? is that Sendspace page all about?
    sendspace is looking for an affiliate marketing guru to handle all aspects of our new affiliate program.

    You've even quoted the reason why you're unlikely to have any right to cancel

    O2 reserves the right to withdraw or amend these offers at any time on reasonable notice. Participating customers will receive 30 days notice via text message if changes are made to their disadvantage

    Nobody is having their bolt-on removed or cancelled, or materially altered.

    So the thread title is inaccurate and highly misleading

    A loss of an opportunity to apply for something one does not already have is not the same as having something involuntarily removed, which would of course be disputable. But O2 isn't doing so this time.

    O2 ceased their Long Weekends promotion nearly a couple of years ago. But nobody who had it existing on their contract had it removed. Did you make outbursts about that as well?

    When they changed charging of 0844 0845 and 0870 numbers (with due notice), they did allow people to cancel.

    The Vodafone deals you seem so keen to promote apparently have no optional bolt-ons, so anyone taking your advice could be worse off.

    As instances, £20 per month 30 day SIM only contracts with O2 or T-mobile can have free internet add-on included. This Vodafone one does not.

    Anyone with an O2 Retentions deal can have a phone as well at that £20 a month level. Why on earth would they want to cancel it to follow your hysterical and duff advice?

    diamonds, somehow you have managed to get seriously mistaken about how someone could cancel a contract because of the removal of bolt ons, and to be honest posting information which is completely untrue makes advisors like mines job even harder because we get people following such advice without checking it out.

    A breach of the terms and conditions would be if o2 were removing ALL chargeable bolt ons from EVERY customer. So for example, I pay for unlimited texts, and regularly send 2000 a month. If they were to remove my bolt on, my bills would be sky high. That would be detrimental to me, and therefore I would be allowed to cancel.

    But that's not what is happening. Anyone who has them already can keep them. New customers cannot add them. No breach of T's and C's AT ALL.

    Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

    So the only people who are 'disadvantaged' are the people who never took them out in the first place but might have been thinking about doing so in the future? Who are therefore no worse off than they are now? Riiiigggght :rolleyes:

    I've already reported this thread and some other recent posts by diamonds

    The bad advice, we'd have to put up with I suppose, and rely on others to qualify or correct it ...

    But what I've reported is

    1. the highly unusual use of a file-sharing site, rather than use direct links to the relevant pages on network websites. Quite aprt from any potentil security issues about using file-sharing sites, it may be a breach of O2's copyright of its own webpages.

    Am I exagggerating to suggest it may be a security issue? Some people don't think so: apparently some can't view it, as it's blocked by security measures taken by their employer.

    2. the Vodafone voucher code, which isn't clear whether it's an affiliate referral, which doesn't work anyway, and which may or may not be in accordance with MSE forum rules about codes

    Its doubtful 02 would make a school boy error,and allow people to cancel contracts.
