I regularly get asked by the useless agencies (95% of them)that they cannot find me any work at the moment and want to know what applications and interviews I have recently attended. I refuse to co-operate with these tactics as Why should I give them job leads when they should be giving them to me.
How do you expect agencies to have positions unless they gather information in this way? You complain there are no positions, but you complain about agencies attempting to secure positions to fill.
Secondly, if you refused to give me the information I wouldn't be working on your behalf and risk making myself look a plank by attempting to sell you to a company you have already applied to/interviewed at. Perhaps this is what is happening with the agencies that are not finding you work."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." I am assuming you work for an agency and I am perhaps being a bit cynical but how will telling you what Applications and interviews I have had recently help you to help me to find a job ?? I feel that I am helping you when it should be the other way round.
Also again perhaps being cynical, if I tell you which jobs I have had a recent interview for - what is to stop you calling the company from your agency and perhaps asking if they are still taking applications for the position and putting forward people from your agency for the job so reducing my chances of getting the position.
I just feel that you are using people registered with your agency to get job leads for other roles and not help people like me find employment.0 -

This may sound like a CRAZY idea but how about YOU tell US what companies you're are putting us forward for.
Then WE can tell you if we have applied / interview with said company, QED problem solved.0 -
Had a missed call and voicemail from one of my agencies today. when I rang her back, she said she rang me in error and was meant to ring someone else (even though her message started ' Hello J.........'.
I give up. Think I will bin this one as well.0 -

I said i have worked in recruitment. I don't now.
Your leads wouldn't help me get you a job - your leads might help me get someone else a job. In the same way someone elses leads might help me get you a job - swings and roundabout.
Often this is the only way to get a candidate infront of a company who have a "No names policy" or "We don't use agencies... oh you have a superdooperxyzer do you? We just happen to be looking for one of those" (What a coincidence:rolleyes:)
Despite what people think, it really isn't as easy as calling up a company and saying " Got any jobs?". But then you must all know that really or you wouldn't be job seeking, or registering with an agency!"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Signed up with another agency on Thursday morning and was told to send CV in. They said they hadnt received it so sent again. Still not received it. Sent it to a couple more ladies in that branch again through a different address. Still not got it. Sent it to my Mums email address. Got it within seconds. Funny that isnt it?
If they dont want me on their books then just blooming well say.Thinking it over...:o0 -

Because the Client companies don't want you calling and pestering them so ask their details to be confidential until such a time as they select persons for interview. They only want contact with applicants they are interested in.
Plus any Job Seeker worth half their salt will be applying for many more positions independently than an agency will put them forward for, so you providing the info makes more sense anyway.
Agencies do work. They do place people in temporary and permanent employment. If they did not then there wouldn't be so many doing business. If agencies don't work for you, and I agree there are some crappy ones which don't last long, but on the whole consider whether you would give a potential employer the attitude you give a consultant and decide why you are not being placed."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Or they could just be having a problem with their server. Paranoid much?:rotfl:"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

Not you the Temp.
Not surprising as the client pays the agency, and ultimately the consultant's wages.
Remember, that employment agencies are kept in business by the fees that their clients pay. You are just incidental to that. They also have a lot of temps, especially true in today's economic climate, so as long as they are not breaking the law, they have no reason to take the side of the temp (who has very few rights as they are classed as a "worker" not an employee.) It's far easier for them to replace you than get into a debate with their client, who they want to keep sweet.
You can register with as many agencies as you wish and don't have to give them any loyalty - just like they don't give you any.:rolleyes:Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120 -
I'm a recruitment consultant and I HATE it.:rolleyes:but its a job
I've had my pay dropped and my hours increased. I had 120 temps out six months ago, now I have 13. I have my manager on my back every two minutes to phone clients to squeeze jobs out of them - but there are none at all. The clients get sick of the phone calls.
I must get about 60 CVs in my inbox everyday, god knows how many walking through the door.
Pointless post really, sorry, but yes we are useless:rolleyes:0
