Thanks sweetpea, I was hoping one wpuld fit a middle tier and then a muslin on the top tier. I will see what size they say on the website. Thanks for all the help.

    Hi Zangels
For a 3 tier cake I find muslins are best for the middle tier and if I am using burp cloths they are better on the top tier, but to be honest I try not to use the burp cloths I prefer instead to use 2 muslins in a 3 tier cake but every one is different of course.

    Hi Rachel
On a 3 tier cake I use a baby blanket to cover the bottom layer, the 2nd & top tiers I use muslin squares.

Thanks Janey21, I thought the burp cloths were bigger than muslin squares. I will use a muslin square then on the middle of the next one. On the one I did for my friend I used a towel on the bottom, a blanket in the middle and a muslin on the top but it worked out quite expensive this way. I dont mind though as it was a gift for her and she loved it.
I would really like to have a go at making some to sell but have no idea of where to start on selling them. I will have a read through the thread and see if I can pick up any ideas.
Looking forward to new ventures

Hi everyone, just thought I would say that Tesco have the muslin squares at half price at the moment, they are £2.37 (I think) for 6 only in white though.

I use a Blanket or towel to cover bottom Tier, a Sleepsuit to cover middle Tier and nothing on top Tier (other than ribbons!)

On Luxury cakes I use Muslins and Burp cloths but to be honest, I don't like using the Burp cloths as you have to fold them under (too wide for nappies) and I don't like the ridge it causes. Maybe I am being too picky!
  • Thans tab thats a GREAT price for 6!! will be visiting x

Thanks tab, I will have to nip to tesco tomorrow, that sound a really good price. I paid £3.50 for 3 in Asda.
Moonpenny, how do you fold the sleep suit to fit the nappies. Your cakes look so neat I thought they were blankets or cloths opf some kind.
Looking forward to new ventures

  • Hi all

I have been at another fayre today with my nappy cakes and yet it again it was rubbish. Honestly people seem to set these things up and then mustn't advertise as there must have been about 10 people through the door if we were luck today.

I am going to try and attach some pics of my cakes. I suppose I am looking for a confidence boost. I have had my website set up for 4 months now, and not had one sale. I think my website is good, and it is up there on Google now thanks to google adwords. Also have a facebook page and have taken out a facebook advert (limited as skint!) . How do you spread the word and get people interested? Any advice?
