thanks hun, im limited to where I can get stuff as I live in Germany as my husband is in the Army, I am pregnant at the mo & placed an order on boots.com tonight for myself so ordered extra size 1 nappies as they were 2 packs for £4 & got boots points too, also I can use them myself if I have no call for size 1 nappy cakes
Ill hopefully find some bargain size 3 nappies & bulk buy them if I do...

I've been bitten by the nappy cake bug
I mentioned to a friend I was doing something unusual as a gift for their baby which she's expecting in December, so here's my first attempt....now where the flippin heck am I going to store it til thenlol.....I've also put myself down for some craft fairs again....hubby's happy to see me buying baby stuff....lets just hope it doesn't give him ideas
The only problem I had was getting the ribbon I wanted, and also how to secure the blankets, as nappy pins won't go through the fleece blanket on the bottom layer, so I compromised and tied bias binding instead of ribbon....it was half the price....I've used over 50 nappies in my 3 tiers...size 3 and 4 nappies...and got them for £5.90 odd a pack so 13p per nappy...total costing for this comes in at under £20 which includes the fleece blanket, muslin cloths, ribbon, hair combs, bib, cake plate, 2x scratch mits and the teddy. I don't live near a B&M or close to a Matalan....but do have most of the main supermarkets, Primark, poundland and QD.
Would welcome feedback....postive or constructive
Please ignore the messy table - fingers crossed here's the photo...0 -
Popkins,
Have you tried Sainsbury's? I can't vouch for the towels/blankets etc, but they did have cuddly WTP and Tiggers for £1.40 odd last week...haven't been this week yet though....Now apologies peeps but I need to do a little rant!!! I am getting really fed up with these stores not having the same stock all the time and being really lacking in the blanket departments - been to 2 Asdas today to try and get the Winnie The Pooh hooded cuddle robe I used for my Winnie cake the other day cos as you know I've had another order for one exactly the same!!! Well couldn't get that & couldn't get the clothing I put inside either!! Asda was rubbish for WTP stuff!! Anyone seen any WTP stuff on their travels? please desperate here!! Got one more Asda to try for the cuddle robe & then I'm stumped!! This it the problem I guess when you're not in a position to buy wholesale!
Right rant over - sorry!!0 -
I have just had an email asking me to do a receipt on my companys letterhead for a 3 tier nappy cake that they bought off me 2 weeks ago. But what do i put on it? I don't even have a letterhead so i will have to make it all up from scratch. I guess it is so they can claim it back though their business, Wish i had known i would have charged more as it was the one i had to do asap and they only gave me an hour or so to do it before they came to pick it up.:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0

Wow, havent you all been busy ....... some gorgeous cakes on here.
Been working loads of overtime recently so havent had much chance to get on here to comment.
I've decided my huggies spotty WTP nappies  ....... will now only be used in my bathtime cakes!!!!!!!!!!
I was too afraid to buy any more huggies the other day so picked up some Tesco's ones (although only size 2...... nice and white).
Anyone else use any WHITE size 3 nappies ...... are pampers white??A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
Candy I bought 2 boxes of size 3 huggies last week and they're still white. I wonder if they're doing both still? It doesn't matter to me as all mine are covered anyway but they do look a lot nicer than the pampers I used to use! Ah so no in answer to your question pampers aren't white!0

You dont fancy a swap do you ......... a box of white for some spotty dotty's ????????????
I like to leave the top tier uncovered, so it looks like I'll either be buying some burp clothes/muslins from now on ......... or do I stick with the Tesco nappies which are only size 2??? ........AND which work out dearer than the huggiesA creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

I was asked to do a 'cowboy' themed cake a while back, apart from the teddy I couldnt find anything.
I ended up printing off some clipart onto card and sticking them onto the ribbon.
Maybe you could do this with some 'Noddy' images.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0
