MoonPenny I love your Christmas 'cakes' they are gorgeous!
I couldn't find any Xmas blankets so I decided to do a Xmas bathtime one instead using a hooded baby xmas towel. I am going to make some mini xmas ones using a white muslin and xmas bib. I suppose you could use plain white blankets. Shops don't seem to be stocking much thoughIts such a pain isn't it! They must be on to us :rotfl:
Proud mummy to 3 beautiful boys!0 -
Beautiful as usual:D
I have searched everywhere high and low and can't find a white blanket anywhere. In fact I can hardly find a blanket
I have taken one of my others apart to get the white blanket to make a Christmas one.
I love the reindeer:D I bought some from Poundland (first time I have bought from there) and the quality is quite poor. If you are buying from there check the stitching carefully.0 -

moonpenny - those xmas cakes are lovely! I have had an order for an xmas cake - finished that this morning - and am pleased with it - must get around to taking some pics. Have found some gorgeous reindeer by Russ in QD for 99p Hopefully will sell a few as these reindeer seem to be breeding lol didnt realise I had bought so many!
Europa - lovely cake too! I think browns are very effective although only orders I seem to have at the moment are for blue cakes!
Re blankets - Adams have some lovely white ones with embossed stars on - they are only £3.99 on the website but my local store still have them at £4.99 -thanks to vikki-louise for this tip!0 -
Carlymummy, on the subject of blankets – I can’t find ANY white ones at all. :eek: I bought a couple of lovely knitted shawls last year and that’s what I’ve used on the xmas cakes. They are fringed all round so wasn’t easy – ended up with fringes at back where I overlap. Prefer blankets but???? I’ve also put an xmas bib at the back.
I noticed they are selling similar Shawls in B&M so looks like “Hobson’s Choice”!
I will probably use muslin for small cake but wanted to do a bigger 1 Tier and no idea what to use for that.
Irlrip – got these toys from Co-Op last January. They were really cheap and are “Keel” toys so quite a good buy. I wouldn’t have thought to look in local supermarket but they were on bottom shelf with chocs when I spotted them. Nothing much gets past me! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.0 -
Brudie25 What is QD?
Thanks for the tip on Adams blankets! There arn't many blankets in other colours either - even my local Primark have hardly got any in.
Europa - Lovely cake! I havn't used brown before (only creams) but looks really effective!0
