xpf I dunno how I missed your post  but well done at least you got people talking about your cakes and taking your business cards.

  • :jYay,
had 2 fairs over the weekend. First was not very busy at all....made my money back and about a tenner. Second was a ladies charity night and although there were only 87 people through the door (last one I did there there were over 500!!!) I made money back and after costs came away with £101.50!!! FABBY!:j
However it varies so much as to wether it is a success or not.
It was my shops that wanted a 25% mark up. They were also sale or return so no initial outlay for the shop. Decided against it.
I think I may have several orders coming up from the fairs though.
    Got another 7 before Christmas.
  • Fabby cakes as always everyone. Well done on boot and craft fairs, although you may or may not have taken any money at least you have advertised and got people talking, which is a great start. Here is my latest effort, a 2 tier blue cake.

    Beautiful cakes everyone!

I made a mini bath cake, just a towel, one bar johnston baby soap one baby sponge, one rubber duck, no ribbons just trying to figure out a way to keep it together without the ribbon because there is a lovely band of rubber ducks going round the towel and I dont want to cover it up.

  • Love the cake Savvymummy.

I am really struggling to find baby booties for my mini cakes! I got them last time from Wilkos but my local one has sold out completely. I need them asap too for my wholesale cakes. Help please.....
    Thanks

How about a nappy pin or safety pin at the back to hold it together?

Well Done! everyone who did fairs. Hope you get orders from them.

Irishgirl62, Could you put Florist ribbon around, the same colour as the towel then you won’t see it especially, and your ducks will show up on top.

Hi, my bath time cakes don't have any ribbon on (I don't like hiding the pattern/picture either), mine just hold in place with a few plastic shirt clips :)
