Thanks for that brudie25! (about the cows!) I will have a look, though there isn't one near me - will have to make a special trip.

Thanks for that brudie25! (about the cows!) I will have a look, though there isn't one near me - will have to make a special trip. Will be worth it as I bought some of those cow print blankets in the sale at Asda and I think they will go nicely.
I have this thing about matching everything up. Wish I could stop doing it but I can't!
had a look in my local today -they didnt have any of the cows left only the rabbits as was gonna get a few more but hey ho! They have had them a few months though but I think they just keep replenishing them as I think its the first time I havent found any in there. They did have some gorgeous pink rabbits for 88p though!0 -
Thanks! liz_uk, That’s really kind of you but, I need a big supermarket shop so I thought I might travel a bit further and try Morrisons for a change. If I can’t get any I will get back to you if you don’t mind!
Vicci_louise, What’s the website address of the cows you have seen? £8 is too steep really but I can’t help having a look. LOL
I don’t intend making these up till next year, but from past experience, I try and get things that match up when I see them.
I love your Christmas cake! Is that an Adams blanket? Where have all the blankets gone? I have been on the hunt today for white ones (2 Towns) and nothing – just white shawls in B&M. Didn’t know if people would like a shawl rather than a blanket but they were quite nice.
I am in the middle of making Christmas cakes (with NO orders for them eek!). So like you, hope I sell some. I bought all the stuff in the sale last year so have no excuse for leaving it so late.
Thanks Brudie – got loads of rabbits! Think they are breeding - everytime I open the box, I swear there are more. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Have just had a mammoth 'baking session' and have made seven cakes up tonight. There are no craft fairs in my area so I'm giving it a whirl at our local car boot sale tomorrow. I've made far simpler/smaller cakes than normal as I know people don't want to pay much at car boot sales. I hope I sell some as I'm spending far money on bits for nappy cakes than I'm making back at the moment.
Time to put my feet up before bed - gotta be up at 5am!:eek:0 -

Hello again!
Just to let you know, the Nappy Cake that I made for my boyfriend's sister went down really well! When I took it to the hospital, a nurse actually asked me if it was "my line of work". I even had to try especially hard to convince my boyfriend's brother that I had actually made it - rather than bought it! I was so proud
Anyway, I showed my aunt a photo of the nappy cake I had made (as she likes creative bits and bobs like this) and she said she thought it was lovely, and asked me if I could make one for her to give to an expecting friend!
As you can imagine, I was over the moon! Especially as she knew that the baby was a boy (so it was something different to try a specific gender cake!) However, because I was at University, she offered to buy the bits and gave them to me to put them together! I finished it last night (whilst watching X Factor - hehe) and gave it to my aunt this morning. I thought I would post a photo to show you all.
(Written on the outer ribbon which ties the cellophane - B ... is for Baby ... B ... is for Boy ... B ... is for Blake - because the baby's name is Blake and I thought it made it a bit more personal.)

p.s Let me know what you think!

If they congregate together for any length of time, they will inevitably hatch plots against you and your pets.

We'll I'm back from the bootsale and it wasn't a complete success but it may lead to some more sales. Only managed to sell 2 of the 7 cakes that I took (1 small one and 1 larger one sold) but had loads of nice comments and quite a lot of people took business cards.
I was pleasantly suprised that people didn't run a mile when I told them how much they were. I was charging £7 for a small one (15 nappies, 1 muslin and a toy) and £15-19 for a larger, 2 tier one (approx 30 nappies, blanket, muslin and toy).0 -
onetreehillgrrl that cake is beautiful. :T0
