Hi carlymummy, I love your Pamper Cake. The colour is lovely and a real bargain at £15! I don't know how you managed it - with a bathrobe as well!

    Is everone doing Xmas Cakes?
I havn't got round to making any yet and time is marching on. Awkward! when you use 0 - 3 mth clothes as it goes past the date.
Anyone who is making Xmas cakes - Are you doing 1, 2, or 3 Tiers?

I'm doing a 3 tier, its half done at the moment (been doing it in stages). I decided against putting any clothes in it like i was originally planning (partly because i would want them to be christmas ones and i couldnt get hold of any reasonably priced ones) but I'm using size 3 nappies, I don't want to use any bigger if the baby is little but i dont want to loose out on selling any because the nappies are too small, saying that I dont know what age babies tend to go into various sizes (can any mums help me on this one please?)

  • has anyone got any instructions (even rough ones) on how to make the motorbike style? Thanks

When I had a go at making mine I just followed a picture off the internet, it was quite simple but this is basically how I made mine:
Firstly I made the 'wheels' rolled approx 10 nappies and kept them together with a band I then took a muslin, rolled it lengthways so that is was as long as poss fed it through the centre of both wheels and secured with a pin hidden inside a wheel (if that makes any sense). Again I rolled another muslin and put this through the front wheel, I placed the baby bottle on top of a baby bib, then tied the muslin above leaving two short handlebars which I then padded out with cotton buds and covered the end with baby socks to look like handles. I placed a bib on top of the back wheel sat a teddy on and hey presto :D well kind of lol - here's a piccie

Hi Carlymummy, that's gorgeous, how did you make it please? Is the bathrobe inside the cake?

    Thanks Sal
I rolled the bathrobe as neatly as I could and then wrapped a bath towel around fixing at the back, placed the goodies on top, decorated with the ribbon and that was it really :j

    Hi all

I'll get straight to the point (!!) I run a baby giftware business in Hampshire and having just aquired a premesis I'm looking to expand my range and include Nappy Cakes.

I'm looking for a local craftsperson who can supply us with an initial order of around 8 - 10 cakes, and then on an as required basis.

The products have to be consistent in colour and content and cannot contain any high-street labels - Brands are fine though e.g. Disney

If anyone would be interested in supplying us please PM me and we'll discuss further.

    Many thanks!!
    Samantha

Hi vikki-louse, On the subject of nappies, I use size 2 which I reckon to be for 0 – Mths and size 3 for 3 – 6 mths. (This is on the advice of DIL as I am past all that being a grandma! LOL)
Anyway, I wouldn’t bother too much about them being bigger (definitely wouldn’t go smaller) as they can always use them when the time comes. I am thinking of using size 3 instead of 2.

Carlymummy, Matalan have a 2 pk xmas sleepsuits £5. 1 red with reindeer and 1 all over print. Not Velour though. Maybe you would find velour ones at markets etc instead of highstreet.
