Congratulations SEARCHING ME on the birth of your baby boy.:j
Re the TWINKS HOBNOBS WITH DESSICATED COCONUT. All I did was replaced about an ounce of oats with an ounce of dessicated coconut.
Tonight we had Jamie Oliver chicken korma from the Ministry of Food recipe book. I cooked it all afternoon in the slow cooker and added a couple handfuls of oats to make it stretttch a little further. It made enough for tonight's tea plus enough for another family meal which has gone in the freezer. Very tasty.:D
Off to co-op and the butcher for absolute necessities tomorrow then a big shop planned for tuesday. Really pleased with myself for managing 3 NSD's in a row - what a miracle!:rotfl:
Good luck everyone.Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

Well I do not think that I am doing too well with this challenge.
Spent another £31.51 today in Mr T's! This brings me to £192.06 out of £250 and we are not even half way through the month. So either I am being too hopeful or spending too much. I purchased all my meat in the first week and have just been buying perishables and stuff we run out of like today wash up liquid.
I did count in the £20 I spent while DD3 was in hospital + the £11.04 it cost me in junior painkiller for her. So if I take this out then not doing so bad.
Did anyone else have this type of problem when they first started doing the challenge?

Spent £27.89 in Morrisons today, which included the Mini Cheddars multipack offer (buy one, get two free), fizzy drinks for OH and a multipack of chocolate (mainly for me - nom nom.)0

Before I first signed up to the GC I saved receipts for a few weeks, and I was horrified to see how much I was spending as against what I thought I was spending.
Bear in mind, though, that you've been doing a bit of stocking up (meat etc) so your spends will probably be much less for the rest of the month?... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Good morning everyone:hello:
I'm still trying to stay on £40 per week but probably won't manage for the next few weeks cos DS2 is now back from uni for the summer. However I'm going to try my best still and I've still got food in the freezer and cupboards so I could probably last a couple of weeks without shopping if I need to.
Also I got a £10 voucher from Mr S if I spend £50 online so I might give that a try (Its go to be used by the 21st so I might as well)
Anyway I'd better get on
Have a lovely day everyone

June NSD 8/150 -
Good morning
Have not posted here for a while but have just gone through my receipts to do an update. Current spend £206.18 plus there is a receipt floating around somewhere from Mr S's. Two weeks to go:eek:. I think I'll be over budget but hopefully by less than last month. Meal plan done for next week, not too much needed from shops but OH & DD2 do like their fruit which will add to cost. We only have four strawberries ripening in the garden so that's not going to help a lot:o.
Have a good weekend everyone, off to update siggy.

thanks kjsam! Your post prompted me to go and look at my strawberries and I think we are in for a bumper crop this year - loads that are almost ripe, so must keep a watch on them in the next day or so and pick them before the birds get them.........Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
