Just updating my siggy. The freezer is really low now,in fact I found the large bag of brambles OH was going to make jam with last year:eek:I think it was me who stole the sun I'm in a tiny pocket of beautiful weather surrounded by areas pouring with rain, bizarre! We're off on our holibags at the end of the month so trying to be inventive with what's left in the freezer and cupboards.I usually spend so much more on shopping when we're away at Haven, so probably just as well we're being mega frugal.I'll need to check out vouchers for days out meals etc for Somerset.Any tips for the burnham on sea area? Chicken Kiev, potato lattices and some sort of veg for tea."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Hello! Spent £75 already! this does include replenishing baby milk which was a big chunk of £'s! also got 2 chickens from Waitrose (£5.50 each or 2 for £8) They're HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to cook one tonight and use it for lunch tomorrow/sunday/monday (o/h is working so can take lunch with him) and dinner sunday! Went into Tesco and got a massive bag of pasta and some other bits, resisted buying random things! A kind freecycler gave us a breadmaker so we're having fun with that!
Need to be careful now this month to stay in budget

Hi, spent another £7-39 over the past few days. £2 on bread. The rest today on strawberries and cream (dessert tonight), and garlic bread and onion rings to go with the HM quiche for tonights dinner. Went into M&S to get a caterpillar birthday cake. (from seperate budget). Anyhoo DS3(4) was carrying it and people stopped him to ask "ah! whoose birthday is it then?" and I would reply "Daddy's he's 44 sunday" :rotfl:Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.

Did my mid-month top-up shop – mainly bits for DD’s pack-ups that I don’t buy all at the beginning of the month or she would get through them all in the first couple of weeks. Came in at £12.36, so I am very please with that.
Still got nearly £20 left & while there are another 2 weeks to go it will just be for milk, and other bits & pieces to tide us over, so should be fine.0 -

Hello everyone,
Just popping in to record £123.16 spent in the first week! This includes our monthly online shop delivered this week, which includes basics to last us the month. Just noticed that it is a 4 and a half week month though, which is always a pain.
However we have plenty in the cupboards. I just need to do some baking and cooking for the freezer (which is nearly empty now!) so that I don't have to cook every night. Feeling very short on inspiration so I will have a look at the recipes for some ideas. Finding it hard to think of anything to put in the freezer now that it's summer. Maybe quiche?
Have a good week.
