Thanks tessie bear - will be popping to Aldi later as we eat a lot more fruit at this time of year and those offers are too good to miss.:D

Although it's another hot day forecast for today, we are having a Beef Casserole tonight as I need to have something from the SC as I won't be here for most of the day, no-one usually minds so that's ok.

    Have a good day everyone.;)

I've just had to amend June GC balance, hubby wanted some coke & I bought 2 punnets of strawberries @ £1 each.

Weve got a new £land. Popped in yesterday, I did buy some sugar, 1.5Kg for £1, good value but its more like caster sugar than granulated, but who cares, sugars' sugar isnt it?

Popped into Lidl yesterday to get some ice lolly makers which I bought the cordial for the other day. They are only 99p and will hopefully save us a lot of money on buying icecreams or lollies this summer. I bought 2 lots, so that if one's bieng washed up, we can have another in the freezer. Just need to find room in the freezer now to actually make them!

Will update my total in my signature in a minute.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Did my "big" shop at Mr T yday. Got lots of food for not much money :) ALso resisted the massive whoppsie section, it was stuff I would plan to buy and I have no room in my freezer to store it all either.

So my total so far is £39.21/£100 (Food 27.49/£80, Household £11/£15, Toiletries £0.68/£5). All i'll need now is weekly F&V, milk and bread and odd bits I haven't got room to store!

MrsM can you put me down for £320 again please :) I came over last month, and was hoping to keep to it this month but I have just spent £73.00 on a new kettle and water filter at Amazon..

Now I am not sure whether I should add this on to the challenge or ignore it as it is for the kitchen, and it was something that we needed to buy at the weekend. I just saved us some money by doing it through Amazon instead :) What would you guys do?

I used to make my kids milk lollies with shops own angel delight as they didn't want fruity ones all the time. I got mine out of the cupboard on Sunday. They must be about 20 years old, and made some for DSs and friends.

I personally would never include things like this in my GC budget (though I do have another budget for 'anything else' that gets used for such things).

    Hello All

I have spent £182.35 so far this month:eek: This included a big shop at Mr T, lunches and dinner when working away and a chinese and some beers to celebrate running a Marathon!:T

I need to come in at around £220 this month to get back on track with my annual budget.

Now that the marathon training is over I can get back into meal planning and batch cooking although all I want at the minute is feta salad:D. I also need to make an up to date list of what's in the freezer and cupboards.

All we should need for the rest of the month is eggs, milk and fruit. I DO NOT need to buy any more food than this! Beer comes out of my GC budget so I may need to have a word with the OH and he will have to pay for it out of his 'going out' money if he wants anymore. I am going to start making my own bread again in the breadmaker as it is gathering dust in the corner of the kitchen.

Is it too late to plant cut and come again salad? The Head Gardner (otherwise known as my mum) has told me that this years onions and beetroot are too close together and might not turn out too good so I am a bit disappointed as this is my first attempt at growing veggies. Oh well I will know for next year.
