I'm a freelance project manager, 24 earning around £20K per year.
On another note - have you all seen knowlton's christmas challenge?! Amazingly knowlton managed to make £500 in the space of a month by doing all the MSE favourites - focus groups, matched betting, surveys, selling mobiles, etc! It's actually quite impressive!
(Search for thread: Challenge: Raising £500 for Christmas before 1st December)
If I could pull this off every month, I would be up to £26k!!0 -

This thread is very interesting (and at times depressing) reading - I am very envious of all the other 24 year olds who seem to be earning 25k+ per year, and bonuses! How do you get these amazing jobs?! Pratically the only roles I've seen advertised lately at graduates are slightly dodgy looking telesales 'OTE' positions.
Age : 24
Location : North West
Job : Legal Adviser @ well known advice charity, 35 hours a week.
Salary : £19,300 (and NO chance of ever getting a pay rise, it is officially frozen for 2 years at the very least)
Perks : Pension scheme, 26 days holiday, sick pay. A warm fuzzy feeling when you help someone in need.
Cons : expected to work evenings/weekends at short notice, we have cheap offices so often there is no heating/plumbing, no such thing as bonuses/Christmas dinners etc.0 -
19, worked in several jobs on various wages, always progressing which is nice..
4.8p/h
6.50p/h
6.30p/h
_____
7.02p/h Centre Parcs - Outdoor activity instructor
7.50p/h Benchmark project coordinator - Admin report writing
Really good benefits from both jobs, 28hrs a week from the Admin job working MONDAY-THURSDAY (Fridays off!) Also working on my own so can pick and choose which day of the week I want off.
Sick pay, nice boss, very relaxed atmosphere...hence on here!
Centre parcs, well...lots of benefits! Its a fun job too, quad biking, paintballing, archery, laser combat is what I do most at weekends. Working 3 weekends on, 1 off so I do get a break every now and then. Basicly anything that isnt going to cost centre parcs anything I can do free...so any outdoor activities or rentals of bikes etc..only thing is food and bits which i can get 20% discount on.
about 15k a year.0 -
ok, just to make sure all ends of the sectrum are covered I will post my figures - not to brag (so please no flaming :silenced:). It is what it is:
Basic gross pay is currently £24,000 per month or £288,000 per year. I also have a variable element which last year was around £200,000. So in total just under £500,000 per annum gross. Net is around half of that.
I am an accountant.
I haven't been earning that sort of money for a long time and have had a couple of significant financial disasters, but I am now pouring money into savings with the hope of retiring early.
For anyone who is interested I can share with you some more details of how I got there and what are some of the pitfalls to avoid.Money won't buy you happiness....but I have never been in a situation where more money made things worse!0
