    Assistant manager in supermarket, approx 45-50 hours a week can be as many as 70 though:( 15.5k before tax, 10% staff discount
  • 29 earning £55,000 running product testing for a large telecommunications company. I also bring in £4.5k tax free from my lodger and a little more from advantage gambling (when I can be bothered).
  • 42, earn £25,000 as a Corporate Health and Safety Advisor.

    Hate it.

    Dunno if its the authority that I am working for that has me thinking I hate it or do I hate H&S? It was never this bad before!!

    PC Refurbishing and Recycling, Under 21 minimum wage (£4.92) at 25 hours a week for the grand total of £6400 per year.

    With working tax credits, housing benefit and DLA it goes up to about £19k a year.
  • I'm 40, work in Yorkshire as a Systems Analyst. Basic is £29k but with perks and overtime etc I grossed £44k last year.

    Job: Seretary/Clerk for a solicitors.

    Work 40 hours a week often without any break as we are usually always too busy. I open the place every morning and am usually last person to leave and lock up.

    Pay: £13,500 + 3 days sick pay
    No benefits

    I work more than i need to here and it's not appreciated. See'ing this thread has made me realise how much better i should be doing for myself.

    Depressed now :( lol

    Location: Kent

    Job: Accountant (I am AAT qualified and have completed 5/14 of ACCA, sitting a further 2 next month)

    Salary: Just risen to £27.5k

    Benefits: All study paid for, day release/study time for exams, bonus for passing exams, company pension scheme and I have a few thousand share options. Annual leave is only 22 days a year but I can often leave early and go in late without taking leave. I get a year end bonus based on profit, last year I got £3.5k.

    I also work with awesome people and our environment is a fun and relaxed one!

    Potential: Being set up for deputy financial controller job as our dept head will be retiring within the next 2/3 years, would expect salary to be in excess of £35k

    Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

    Don't be depressed you just need more confidence in yourself and plan on how to get yourself noticed and a pay rise.
