Trainee Accountant - local authority - £21.5k + benefits (flexi time + study support). SW Wales.

Could earn more in private sector, but the work/life balance is better in public sector.

    Hung up my suit!
I would like to be honest but I don't want to be unpopular!

I am an accountant in my mid 40's, have studied and worked hard and earn a six figure sum with a significant bonus potential.
Money won't buy you happiness....but I have never been in a situation where more money made things worse!

  • Oooh, good luck! My parents live in Surrey, and I'd always planned to live in Surrey/West Sussex, but prices have sky-rocketed, even in places that used to be more reasonably priced...I haven't got a cat's chance in h*ll now of affording anywhere. lol.

My neck of the woods too! Prices have always been silly around these parts.
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)
