You should get much more than 50% for your second job. I also have two jobs and get 73% of my gross wage in my 2nd job.
What tax code is your 2nd employer using? You should be on BR and you shouldn't be paying any more tax overall in your two jobs than if you earned the same amount in one job.
In many cases, you actually benefit by having 2 jobs instead of earning the same amount in only one job as you should pay less national insurance in your second job.0 -

53 living in the Isle of Man
Part time self employed engineer £28k
Part time self employed employee motivator £35k
Annual tax bill before deductions £9.6k
um ... what is a 'self employed employee motivator'? or is it a joke?:o
It sounds like you are paid to turn up and boot people up the jacksy - is it a bit like that? If so, I could do that.
Gobsmacked at some of the salaries on here ... and some so young!
I earn about £20,000 I think + car and bupa.
Job title, not sure. It's a stupid job, unsocial hours and boring to boot.0 -
I'm 25 and earn £21,000 in the north west as an Online Content Editor for one of the UK's largest home shopping companies. I'm basically in charge of all online content with an emphasis on seo for around 15 websites. I went to university and did a degree in Journalism. I work Monday to Friday, 9-5 and until 4.30 on a Friday, get a lot of benefits, cost price on all products, pension, sick pay, 22 holidays rising every year and other bits and bobs.
My previous jobs and wages from leaving uni have been...
Trainee PR Executive (agency) - £13k (redundancy)
Content Coordinator (travel) - £13.5k (redundancy)
Copywriter (IT) - £18k
Online Content Coordinator (health) - £18.5k (redundancy)
Online Marketing Executive (football club) - £19.5k
Editor (homewares) - £20k (redundancy)0 -

22 hours per week 12 on Sat & 12 on Sun (Mon to Fri off)
Managing a small emergency out of hours response team
£18.20 per hour. And 10 weeks holiday a year
Not a bad job and have no intention of looking elsewhere for now, as it's the 10 weeks off I love, and doubt I could find any other company to match thatOver 100k miles of Electric Motoring and rising,0
