Pen-Pin, sorry your meds aren't agreeing with you, hope it gets sorted. I know I am very new, but I'm such a long time lurker of this thread I've been aware your health isn't the best. Hugs.
Halight, good for you with all the warm front stuff, sounds really good. I'm just waiting for a date to come through for cavity wall to be done, unfortunately I have to pay but I'm assured its well worth it.
Have had a lovely day out in the sunshine today at Warwick Castle. Not been there for about 3 years, and we all had a great time. Even better, the camping and caravanning club were there doing some kind of information type day, and there was free goody bags, free ice-cream for kids, free face-painting and bouncy castles etc. I now have 9 hessian bags for my tesco shops!!0 -
Been a busy day....went with DD4 to get her new bike....sold to us by an 89 year old who has had the same business for 57 years....
Got some spelt and soy flour to make bread for DD3 who is on wheat/gluten free diet for 2 months to see if it will clear mercury from her system...paid €3.99 for spelt (1 kilo) so think that I might try supermarket next time, not stocked everywhere so got it when I saw it in H & B...she was happy with the bread and hummous so worth the outlay.
Looking out the kitchen window a while ago and there were three rabbits attacking my wallflowers...suddenly they took to their heels and across the lawn strode a HUGE !!!! pheasant...looked more like a turkey, so probably as old as Methusalah...he went up to the greenhouse and preened for a while as he could obviously see himself in the glass, then took off in his own time...nice to see that they are still around in the wild.
The kittens are presently having a game of chasing...we put them outside for a while to-day to see if they would scare the rabbits but they just played for a while and then scratched at the door to come in again...our cats are always more outside than inside so they will have to change their ways!
All in all it has been a good day..and the weather is glorious.
Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to all who are celebrating (especially the nessies), welcome to any newbies and please come back to see us those of you who are MIA
Sleep well,

Nelski; what a smashing photo, quite put a spring in me step mate
Pen-Pin Sorry your med are giving you trouble I hope they sort them out for you soon.
Lovely day today went to Leeds Castle with my DD and four grandsons. There was a jousting day there, and the boys loved watching the show .They went and tried on some armour afterwards, and my DD took some snaps of the three smallest ones. We tried to get them to look fierce but they all just looked too cute and smiley to be fierce soldiers of the king. Great day out was had by all, and our tickets, bought last year, were used again so the entrace costs nothing We took a picnic and stuffed my wally-trolley with grub.Sadly my poor thermos has expired and broke this afternoon.I have had it for 8 years and it cost me 50p at a boot sale so its time I splashed out on a new one I guess
Eventually it became too hot and humid, so we came home late afternoon and the boys all played at 'knights and varmints' in the garden
Tomorrow I have a little shopping to do, but not a lot. Near to me at the Chatham Dockside outlet centre there is a new shop opened called The Range and it has some really nice stuff in there at a reasonable price ,a bit like an upmarket Wilkinsons, but not a lot dearer. Bought my DD a couple of large pizza plates in there for under £6.00.They also had some loaf shaped catering liners for tins 40 for £1.79 so there will be a few lemon drizzle cakes at Chez JackieO's house this month. I used a recipe off this site, and its been great, I am going to have a go at an orange drizzle cake for a change. Well time I was off up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire I have a new book to start tonight that my friend gave me by the writer of The Kite Runner, its called 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini and if its as good as his first one I shall enjoy it
Have a peaceful night everyone
Cheers JackieO xx0
