Morning all,
Looks bighter here today, I have one load on the line, one in the wm, and another two to go in, the weather has been so bad here lately that I have been unable to do any.
Yesterday ( it rained ALL day ) dd and I got 5 dvd's for £5 for the week, watched two of them yesterday, and will watch another today, and during the rest of the week, much cheaper than the pictures :money:
Today we are going to matalan for a quick look round, and then back to take little dog out for a long run, she has only had the quickest of walks for two days, and is desperate to get out.
Dinner tonight will be hm chicken kiev and chips with peas, sainsbugs delivery tonight too.
Need to hoover through and mop the floors, and have a general tidy, I never do too much when dd is off, it can wait till next week
Hugs to Catman, and Beth xx
Halight, your twins sound lovely. Years ago I had cavity wall insulation, and the loft done by warm front, they did a great job, and the house is sooo much warmer :T
Ok, better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Overslept today - so no long walk for dog yet! WM is juddering to a halt as I type. Was beautifully sunny earlier, but clouds are now gathering. Clothes going on line regardless! Not sure what's happening today, but need to do some tidying and cleaning anyway. Am cross with myself as haven't started the painting yet in the spare room. When I knew my desk and bookshelves were being delivered tomorrow I was determined to get the room ready...once DH pointed out that they were coming as flatpacks I realised there was no hurry! What to place a bet about how long that furniture remains in its pack?????
Anyway, hope you all have a good day today.
Bethebee and Catman - my thoughts are with you. Some dates are very hard to live through every time they come around aren't they?Resolution:

Morning all,
DF still not feeling to good so no decorating her bedroom today.
I'm having DGD today so no re-pointing either. Y/day I made a start on cleaning the stone, I used a circular wire brush on a drill that takes the top layer off the stone. DH and I got covered in dust. Oh the joys of restoring a barn.
Have made savory pancakes for DD & DH's lunch, vacumed bedrooms and cleaned bathrooms.
The new fridge was delivered at 7.45 today, just as well we are early risers.
Next job is to empty old one and refill the new one after DH has moved the socket and changed the door so it opens the right way.
Must get some beef out of the freezer and mince it to make a bolognaise for dinner.
Hope you all have a good day.
ps. Thank you for all ((hugs)) :A0 -
Morning all.
Well Dd bless her has helped me with hanging washing out, we made some
pies with coronation chicken leftover from last night for Dh to take
for pack up:D
Got to try and hoover up today and make sure I get a rest as want to take Dd to see my Mum tomorrow as next week if very busy- appointments for DS3 and Dd hospital- counciling for me and psyio(sp?)
for me too0 -
:hello: Good morning!
Can't really think of anything to say this morning
The sun's out so will be able to have nice fresh-smelling washing :j
I got all my t-shirts out of the top of the wardrobe y'day and washed them to fresen them up....but one came out of the WM with mould spots on it.....so I rinsed it, ran the WM empty with washing soda in it, and put the t-shirt back in with the next washload....and two others came out with mould spots on as well  I ran the machine empty again with some Dr Beckmann's in it and when it finished there was a bit of mould on the WM door, so to be on the safe side I ran it with washing soda in it yet again - good thing we're not on a water meter! - and put the mould-stained shirts back in with some Basics bio powder and some Vanish for good measure - thankful to say they came out spotless! It's never taken me solong to do what should have been 2 washloads
I'm having my hair cut today, so that's not very OSbut at least it will be much easier to wash and will dry quickly.
Not sure what's for dinner tonight, we may have to buy some food as the freezer's getting rather empty

Bethebee - just read your post from last night - yes 100 fireman:D was really worring though before we knew what was going on - never seen so many fire engines in 1 place and we live near a decommisioned power station but when we knew where it was & that noone was hurt then could enjoy watching the fireman out of the windows - perhaps Nelski may come along later & post one one of her special pictures
Sorry for the delay Essex girl I had to lie down in a darkened room for a couple of hours after the thought of 100 firemen:D:D:D
I am ok now though (no need for hugs everyone dont worry:p) by the time I got to the scene EG there was only these 3 left sorry they are so dirty:rotfl:
mmm back to darkened room me thinks ..........
jobs for today.................oh i know I need to hang a wash out - does that qualify?
:D:D
:hello: :hello: all you lovely peeps hope you are all well and happy:grouphug:0 -
Morning all,
Nelski,
Catman, don't appologise for mentioning something so important to you here. Thankfully, I can't imagine what both you and Mrs Catman have been through and continue to go through each anniversary.
Beth, thinking of you too. x
I haven't been around much in the last few days because work is taking over my life, training courses, meetings etc as well as the usual evening work. Only two more nights to go then it's my week off and I can't wait!
As a result not much Old Style stuff going on either. The knob fell off my slow cooker yesterday and it's just outside it's guarantee  but thankfully it still works with a pair of plyers and I was able to make a lovely chicken and tarragon in cream sauce thingy. Tonight is a cottage pie homemade ready meal from the freezer so that should free up some time to spend in the garden. It's all looking very dry and I need to do a bit of weeding. On the upside, the broad beans have produced loads of flowers, I have three tomatoes and lots of tiny plums! :j
It's dullish here but the sun's threatening to come out so best go and get the watering done.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone!
How are you all today? Hope the weather is better with you than it is here - misty and that fine smirry rain
Well, it's my 5th wedding anniversary today, having a nice meal at home this evening as we're away next weekend for a few days.
So, nothing much OS for me today, I'm afraid.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Morning!
A BIG lie in here as we've not woken upDS2 is still asleep in fact which is most unusual. WM has been on once as I'd set it in timer last night & I've just put the 2nd load on.
Ivyleaf What a parlaver with the mould  Bet you're glad it's sorted now.
Ravylesley I noticed on another thread the other day that you make a victoria sandwich with thick custard in it. It's my Mum's birthday tomorrow & I want to make one as she loves all things custardWhat proportion of custard powder to milk do you use? Thank you in anticipation :T
Nelski :j Thank you!
Having a clean through here today in preperation for Mum's birthday lunch tomorrow. The floors are desperate for mopping with the recent wet weather and children's spillages
(((((((((hugs))))))))))) to all MIA hope you are all okay.0 -
Morning Everyone
another grim and grey morning here but according to the weather this afternoon it will be cracking the flags. So in anticipation of a good afternoon ahead I have been a good girl and cleaned the house from top to bottom, ironed and washed 2 loads.OH is at work on lates so he's had a good brekkie and will take some snacks in for himself later.I've taken some mince out the freezer and will either make a chilli or bolognaise later.Yoghurt Maker is on again I swear to god we have mice who eat the stuff cos I make tons of it and it just disappears
Catman-I have to apologise for my insensitivity yesterday and I wittered on about footie and posted my reply before reading your reply properly so anyway I'm really sorry to hear about your twins and I hope yesterday wasnt too traumatic for you
Sunnygirl-I usually put 4 heaped tbsps of custard powder and the same of sugar into a pint of milk and it makes a lovely thick custard.Sprinkle the top of the made custard with sugar and allow it to cool a little in the pan before putting onto the sponge. The sugar prevents the custard forming a skin
Pen-pin-Havent been that diligent on reading the thread recently so not sure whether you've posted or not but I hope that things are good with you at the moment
MSD-Where are you??? Your purple prose cheers my day so come on post again
