Hi wileycat, just wondered whether you had heard anything after the training/entrance exam of last week?

Mine had to be in late on Friday but haven't heard back yet. Not sure whether no news is good news or not

The poor girl that needed recommending can speak 4 Different languages.

Lionbridge translators don't need to be 'recommended' as you put it. They work on a freelance basis. It's quite straightforward to apply via the Lionbridge careers webpage.

I have just started Lionbridge and have been filling in my timecard daily. I have just noticed for the previous month every day is showing as rejected. What do I do in that situation because the hours I entered are the hours I actually worked?

Now they have been rejected is it too late for me to change them, will I not get paid on time?

You should contact them about it. In these cases, i think they usually expect you to change the time or something to match exactly how much you worked.

Did you record the time as start at 6pm finish at 7pm, did 100 tasks so 60 mins 100 tasks or did you do that but say I am allowed 1 min per task so 100 mins and 100 tasks?

I can see why they would reject the latter. The only reason I could see them rejecting the former would be if you were taking a lot longer on average per task than they allow.

If you still can't see why it's rejected email them and ask for their figures so you can compare them against your own.

Can't answer the not being paid thing other than it is in your best interest to get it sorted ASAP. I did read on the thread linked to on the last page that someone is still trying to resolve rejected time from I think July maybe August.

I got an email on Friday to say they were offering me the Label Editor position and hoping I could start asap so that was great news after a week of waiting and hoping. I sent them an email on Thursday but not sure whether that prompted the reply to me.

I know that two of the people who were on my conf call haven't heard back yet either.

Hopefully they'll get back to you soon, and with good news too.

I applied to Lionbridge on 2 October and received thie acknowledgement straight away.

How long does it take for them to get back to you to do the assessments?
  • Hey,

I applied on 2 October as well and no word back from them as yet, but from reading through this thread i'm guessing this is normal?

What I'm wondering is, from the guys here who are already working for Lionbridge, if you get the job, are the hours there? I would want to do the full 20 hours a week as need as much money as possible. Is this possible? Is the work there for people who want it?

This job would be so perfect for me so i'm really hoping I get it. I'm just impatient for them to send me the assessments!! :-)
