It is if all they've had to do is contact an ISP and then send out a couple of threatening-looking letters. I'd do that for £300 if anyone's offering... no, hang on, that's not right...0

Forensic experts aren't infallable. If it is someone else using the router, then they are breaking the law (once by file sharing, and once by using your router) , so YF has nothing to worry about, apart from how to spend the compensation when YF counter claims for the worry incurred by receiving this threatening letter.
You may want to make a note of which other SSID's are in the area, should this scenario be a possible explanation.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
It looks like an approach needs to be made to the ISP, probably their abuse team, and ask why they have given this person's identity, and what evidence they think they have.0

that seems sensible ^^^ also ask about dynamic addreses?0

How has this "firm" got friend's address?
Do they mention his ISP in their letter? If not, how could they have got it if he has not even used Norton?
Edit - yes, as Redux says...Torgwen.....................

Further to earlier comments, I'd recommend checking with the Law Society to see whether this letter is from who it says.0
