What an awful experience. Although the staff at the job center are very nice. I have had nothing but hastle from back off staff in regards to assessing my claim. They continue not to accept any documentation I have submitted - even though it was certified by the bank.

I am a trained teacher - but just to get away from signing on I have accepted an office job. I haven't even received a penny in in job seekers allowance or housing benefit and council tax. If they dare cast this up to me years from now - even though I didn't get a penny - I will cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

If you are a trained teacher, can you not sign up with an agency?

An office job ? How crappy. Poor you.

Why are they rejecting your paperwork ?
  • Alwaysonthego - problem is they are still pumping teachers out by the dozen in Scotland. Even though there is a glut the government still insists on training more and more. That means heavy competition for permanent jobs and lack of supply jobs being chased by say a few 100.

Zappster - I would rather get an office tan than face the non paying dole line again. They say they need a certificate or something from my bank. Which I have ordered but they continue to threat to close my claim down. At least when I call them again I can tell them to screw it.

My uncle when retired from teaching, he now does private tutoring.

Wonder if this is useful to the OP.;)
Just a thought, but I am aware once a teacher, always a teacher, in a nice way of course.:D;)

Although you trained in Scotland, you don't have to work there. Have you applied for teaching jobs in England?
