I just bought this on Littlewoods Direct. Unfortunately the cheap price is no longer available!
I bought it to use in France, because mobile broadband is very expensive there.
Can anyone please advise what software I need to possibly change to a French sim, and how to set it up?

- I read on this thread that this dongle (the E160) is unlocked. So I tried adding the access point info given earlier in this thread. Does it have a chance of working using o2's software or should I download the generic Huawei connection software also pointed to earlier in this thread?
Cheers!
I'm using the dongle with a T-Mobile sim.
You can set up a new connection using the New Connection Wizard, you don't need any software. If the dongle creates its own connection for O2 you'll need to delete it otherwise it won't work. The View Belongs To Everyone0 -
Have been playing with the o2 dongle as I actually needed to use it, broadband down. It sees the o2 network with signal between 'very low' and 'low', moving it around can keep it at 'low'. It tries to connect but never succeeds. Now, I know that in this locality the t-mobile signal is good, so I tried a t-mobile SIM. The dongle does not seem to see any other networks apart from 02 even after I added access point info for t-mobile.
Questions:
- Are other users of this dongle able to connect to o2 with 'low' signal?

Just to respond (belatedly) to your first question: yeah, I can connect to O2 with a low signal. Sometimes I need to reinstall the software, reboot, or keep on trying (I don't know why) but it does work eventually... .0 -
Went to the bank today. Should find out what happens in a week or two. Used a debit card so you don't need to have used a credit card to hopefully get it sortedThe View Belongs To Everyone0
