Just wanted to add my emotional support to all of the above and say I hope your doctor is sympathetic and is able to help you. You may find it useful to seek counselling throughout the next few weeks as having some neutral to lean on during particularly difficult or stressful times is often a great comfort. Also, as Ladybez said - your meds will take a while to kick in so don't get frustrated if at first you feel like there's no difference. Also, keep an eye on side-effects like excess tiredness and mention those to your doc.
I agree with the posters on here in that I highly doubt you will be given a custodial sentence for this minor offence. You've been honest, you're remorseful and you were going through some very difficult things at the time. You have dealt with the fall-out of your actions as best you can and are facing up to the consequences which is a helluva lot more than a lot of people do.
Please keep posting and let us know how you're doing *subscribes to thread*.

My other half stole £6k from his employers and got community service and a years suspended sentence. I really can't see you getting sent to prison. My OH was told by the judge that they'd been told not to hand down custodial sentences for this kind of thing. Now that was theft not fraud, but I can't see there being that much difference.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

hi
just wanted to also offer support. I know how you must be feeling right now after getting myself into a similar situation although was very fortunate in that my employers chose not to take the matter any further.
I still punish myself quite severely for it even 4 years later.
The courts will take a view that you admitted it, its not a huge sum and you will get through this. I really feel for you just now. Please dont be to hard on yourself. Find someone you can talk to about it - anyone, just dont bottle things up and try not to blow the worst case senario up in your head.
I also know this advice is hard to hear and believe but please take some comfort in it. All the bestDFW 228 LONG H 68

My best supporter ended up being my employer, and we remain friends (not close buddies but we talk).

If the 4 counts are for when you took the money, are they saying you tried to commit fraud a further 13 times?
I agree that even though you may not qualify for legal aid, you should be entitled to free advice before you go.
