Im so sad, getting excited over debt!!!

So anyone know the best way for vanquis to increase your limit, what kind of spending pattern do they look for? Im not looking to spend more than about £50 a month then pay it back in full!
Congratulations on acceptance  £500 is a good starting limit, most get £250.
I went from £250 to £500 after 4 statements then jumped to £1250 on 7th statement.
Paid in full every month bar one.
Most I have spent in a month is £470, about £300 up to statement then another few quid after statement produced.
Dont think it matters to be honest though it's just a case of paying on time and using card regularly.
In your case, maybe buy food shopping, baby stuff, petrol, stuff that you buy anyway then pay it off in full to avoid interest. :T

I'm not sure - I have had the card for about 15 months - and have been stuck at £1500 Since December. I started at £250 and have just used it regularly and to whatever limit I have been set at the time. Then paid the entire balance off by Direct Debit. I did go over my limit by 8p in September last year though :embarasse

With my 2nd statement i got a leaflet explaining how to increase your limit but the advice given is what we already know .

*pay bill on time (at the very least the minimum amount)
*make sure all accounts are paid on time and kept up-to-date
*make sure your on electral register
*don't exceed your credit limit etc...

Boring!!!!! :p Looks like there's no magic to it, just common sense. Boo!

Were you penalised in anyway for going over the limit by such a small amount?

I had a £12 charge - which I paid by debit card the same day - and to be fair no matter how much - I did go over my limit.

They did upgrade me to a Gold Card 3 months later - so not sure if its had an effect

    For 8p??? Ouch

Fair enough, they have stated you have to pay this so we cannot complain but its just amazing as to how much money that they make from us, lol
