I am finding things a lot cheaper this year! Have you looked at DIY rather than using a travel agent?

I completely agree, 10 years ago i was paying 3 times what i pay these days. Often much much more.

    Two tips:

Stay awar from Euroland - euro-pound exchange rate is very poor at the moment, so things are very expensive in euro countries. Just come back from Greece - £5 for two coffees in most bars.

Try to buy an all-in holiday where the money you spend for the food and local drinks are already paid for by you in sterling up front, not in euros or dollars on-site.

I'm going to completely contradict myself now and suggest a package operator - have you tried Kuoni? Looks like there are some good deals about for Thailand. I'll redeem myself a little by saying that Kuoni are not your average operator, you can tailor make the 'package' to your own requirements.

How about a cruise? This looks like a possibility, and there tends to be a lot on for children. I'm not sure that the August dates would be as low as £799 (or if you want to travel to London), but no harm in asking!

Ooh Ooh do we have a holiday broker wannabe in the house? If so me next please :)

The wife and i's 2 year wedding anniversary this year (aww bless) but she wants to be away for the actual day (7th July) - we expect to pay more as its peak season but it does seem around £200 more for the same holidays as last year.

Any help would be appreciated - apparently she's not bothered where we go its just got to be hot, relaxing and not full of 18 - 30's

if anyone sees any deals let me know :) (ps went to Turkey last year)

If you are looking for a beachy place I'm not too good with them I'm afraid! I would recommend Morocco though, maybe splitting your time between Agadir or Fez and Marrakech?

Also I saw a Dom Rep week AI at the Tropical princess bavaro for £350pp early june on holiday hypermarket flying from manchester.
I want to go to the caribbean or mexico Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec anytime from manchester max budget £2500 for 2 adults 2 teens 1 week AI.
If anyone see's a bargain let me know!

2 adults, 1 child age 11. First choice is Florida, been there before stayed on I-drive at Crowne Plaza Universal Blvd ( we HATE British lager lout chavs :D )

So why go to Florida then?

People have this misconception that its for the 'better off', when i reality, its like going to the Costa Del Sol (with more food portions).

That depends which hotel you stay at.

And there definately arent gangs of drunken British lager louts tearing the place up.

    Looking at http://www.bestattravel.co.uk/pages/Specials/Default.aspx

The holiday to Orlando we went on last year is near enough exactly the same price this year.

Car hire however is about 1/3 more.

Yeah it may look like the same price, wait til you try calling them.... please see my thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1711641

It seems to me you really can't cope with lager louts!

Therefore I recommend Sorrento in Italy for your hols! No lager louts, no full english breakfasts and no illuminus beer promotion signs! (plus it'll be quite educational for your 11 year old to visit Pompeii, Vesuvius etc.
