    HI,

    National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000

This is an 0808 number not 0800, I've just rung them and it is free.

that may be a bonus of your provider....i've rang various 0800-0808 numbers and always been either charged or the calls came out of my inclusive minutes

    Hi

Now the kids are back at school I can call ND from the landline, though I am pretty sure they will advise BR anyway.

Think my depression is turning me agoraphobic.......the sun is shining and it's my birthday, and I am sat on my bed hiding away from the world.

Still hoping the phone will ring with a job offer.

Thank you for the support everyone!

Hmm I know what you mean pup....it seemed easier for me not to leave the house in a way..but you must try even if its only going out for a newspaper & reading in somewhere outside

dont't hide away....its a hard habit to break

The phone will ring eventually...you'll see
dont worry about ringing NDL they're brilliant & will put your mind at ease with everything.....and if they suggest BR as an option? so what...not the end of the world

    Thank you.

Will probably sit outside for an hour later, just seems so pointless trying to do anything when the worry is on your mind 24/7 regardless of what you do.

    Can't escape it.

you cant.....BUT even sitting in a coffee shop with a newspaper will take your mind off thinks for a little while

I know what your going through....i've suffered with severe depression for many many years along with a whole lot of other things (I had a severe car accident a few years ago that left me severly disabled) BUT help is out there for you you just need to grab it....give the tabs time to help & if your no different go back to your GP & discuss other treatment...ask for councelling....depression can if you let it destroy you

I got the help I needed plus a ton of support from the guys & gals here & now life is good...and will be for you eventually

I know its a clich! but there are people out there a whole lot worse than we've been....

Please feel free to PM or email me anytime if you feel things are getting to you..i'm here most days! :D

Is it your birthday? Do something nice, even if its just sitting having a coffee like philnicandamy's suggestion.

    Hi

Just a little update, still struggling but holding on to hope.
Still awaiting news on the job I applied for, the CRB checks take so long.

Grrr, Barclaycard. Because of the bank holiday my payment was late and the late fee they charged was more than the payment I made!!!

Bit concerned about my JSA. I signed on 9 days ago but a payment isn't in my bank account yet......without that I cannot even try to make this month's payments.

Daughters wanting money to go out and stuff, and they are at each others throats half the time, which adds to my guilt about the situation.

Oh well, here's hoping for a turnaround soon.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    Hi Pup

There isn't anyone on here who'll tell you its easy, it isn't and that's the bottome line. I went BR 6 months ago, and I didn't feel the immense relief that I expected to. I lost my house and am very sad about that. However, I do catach myself out from time to time these days when I realise I've been chirpier that I used to be, or had a good laugh about something with friends or workmates! Its then that I realise I am actually happier and more relaxed than I was for a long, long time. And whilst I can't say that financially my life is easy, it isnt (learning to budget is a whole new ball game!) I remind myself that I'm not in debt and I'm no longer scrabbling around in a dark cold hole - I didn't want to go BR but there was no other way for me, but it has put me emotionally in a much happier place. I wish you luck, and you know the advice on here is second to none - i couldn't have done it without the people from this forum.

    Hi Pup,

Just to let you know i've been down the depression and panic attack road myself, they feed off each other, the depression makes the panic attack and the panic attacks make you depressed.

You've got to let the tabs kick in to break the cycle. Now i'm no doctor but i do know the panic attacks are caused by the "fight or flight syndrome" where your body get ready to do just that, and it's caused by an adrenalin rush.

My doctor gave me a beta blocker called Propanalol to stop the rush and it worked a treat.

    HTH a bit
