Sorry to hear of your troubles.

If bankruptcy is the only answer, then let me tell you its not the end of the world !

I was excatley like you, & thought that my life was over at the age of 35. I was distraught & like you on citalopram, but do you know what the relief was imense, & I even got a full nights sleep !

Have a good talk with your Wife, & make an appointment to see a debt councilor, you might just be surprised.

I wish you the bestest luck, what ever your decision may be.

I appreciate the kind words, thank you everyone.
My wife is still saying we will muddle through (putting on a brave face) but I really cannot see where a job is going to come from.

I can't do an SOA thing til she sits down with me and we figure out income/expenditure.

I want to call National Debtline but my daughter is home at the moment unwell and I don't want to make the call with the kids about.

It is so frustrating knowing that we could get back on top of things if only I could find a job, but alas.

I so want to avoid bankruptcy but we are on a low income and I can't see my creditors co-operating whilst I am out of work, so I suppose I should start planning for the worst and do more research etc.

Will call National Debtline as soon as the chance arises.
Fearful of the toll things are taking on my health. Ugh.

P.S. I don't always log in but I do read all posts and appreciate the support.

    Hi Pup

why not go online at CCCS and complete their debt remedy? This will show you your best options and no waiting to fix up an appointment!

Incidentally how much is your debt because if its less than £15000 you can apply for a Debt Relief Order.

keep plugging away fella, try and treat the whole process of applying work a job in itself. Also accept that 9 out of 10 jobs won't even bother replying, so don't let that get you down either.

Sorry about the job pup. Its the fear of the unknown that is so stressful but bear in mind that most people on here have gone BR and don't regret it. Your health and happiness are far more important than the debt.

I agree with what others have said. Whilst at the time I felt that BR was the last thing that I wanted to do, 12 months down the line I'm happy that I did. I'm sorry that the job application didn't work out this time but if you're willing to keep going, I'm sure that something will come up.

    Take care

    Hi Pup

We lost our business in br, and hence were out of work. I honestly don't know which was worse out of either not getting a reply or a plain rejection when we applied for jobs. It is a hugely stressful and mentally demanding time, but 3mths into br my oh got offered a job and despite it being a million miles from anything he had done before it has worked out like a dream. He excels at the job, absolutely adores it and the bosses seem to think a lot of him too. He is now completing qualifications left right and centre. He says time and time again that it is like fate intervined, as if its all meant to be.

It will all work out in the end and in the meantime we are all here for you.

    Best wishes

    Jenni

    Hello again everyone.

I am still so stressed and anxious.
Don't leave my bedroom unless I absolutely have to,and feel such anxiety and lethargy/irritability all the time.
However I am still hoping against hope to find a job in time to avoid the bankruptcy route.
Had an interview yesterday that went well but I fear my references may scupper things.
I am continuing to search hard for work so at least I can say I am trying.

I have a GP appointment on Monday re my stress and depression though I doubt medication will change as I have only been on Citalapram for 2 weeks.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you all for the supportive words and let you know that I haven't completely given up hope yet.
