Hi chums thank for all the good wishes,I won't be sorry to see the back of this cold it's a real perisher, now there's and old-fashioned word for you.
I too loved the Famous Five and Secret Seven books, comics when I could wheedle from my Dad were Girls Crystal or School Friend, then as I got older, moved on to Valentine & Mirabelle.
Bunter & Biggles & Just William sneaked from my two big brothers.I can honestly say I cannot remember a time when I didn't read.By the time I was 11 I had read almost all of the books in our local junior library and had a letter from my Dad to say he would allow me to get books from the grown-ups one as I was running out of books to read.Woolies used to sell the classics at two and sixpence and any money I managed to scrounge went on those.I still have far too many books in my house at the moment and I am trying to work my way through them. I have a book by my computer that I read whilst 'booting up' (The Kite Runner) I have a library book by my bed David Peace's '1977' in the loo there is Barbara Winsor's autobiography and in the car I have John Grisham's 'The Broker' so there is nowhere in my life that I havn't access to a book to read throughout the day. I could never work in a book shop I would never want to sell any in case I hadn't read them first.
The Night at The Museum 2 was quite good, and the kids enjoyed it along with Mum,Dad & Granny.
I have been trying to get to see the Michael Caine film 'Is there Anybody There' but its not arrived in my neck of the woods yet.I'm off to see my pal in Dartford tomorrow for the day so I'll be taking my knitting with me as we like to sit and chinwag for England. She is off to Canada next week for a fortnight so I shan't see her for a little while.Right now I'm off up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire
Night night all
