:THi there folks
Been MIA the last few days. Was up in the Scottish Borders for a rally all weekend. Had a brilliant time and the company just made it so especially with the wine .
Stayed at a lovely B & B the lady was very os and the little touches made the weekend oh so special. Hot water bottles in the bed when we went up. Home made bread, jam and fruit salad for breakkie. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We are booked again for next year apparently:T.
Today the weather is fab but with OH for the day so not much os although do have to get weekend washing done and proably pasta or something simple for tea as we have BBQ all weekend.
Have a fantastic Bank Holiday xxxAlthough I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:
Fear is a disease....Hope is it's only cure!0 -
Hi chums ,still coughing my lungs up at the moment ,it seems to clear for a little while, then come back with avengence. today I am going to make a nice lemon drizzle cake to take with me to my friends tomorrow as I'm off there for the day.She is going to Canada next week for a fortnights holiday with her OH,lucky devil. I may also make a nice Chocolate cake for my DD and tribe as the boys lurve grannys chocolate cake .We are taking then all to the cinema this afternoon to see Night at the Museum 2, the forecast is a bit gloomy so an afternoonat the flicks will cheer them up.
Watched BGT last night and was sad that the little lass didn't get through, although it must have been a hard decision for the judges.
Just organised my recipes that I had online and printed them off and found a nice file to store them in for the kitchen . My computer room is upstairs and its a bit of a faff to keep running up stairs to check on something.
Just looked out the window and there is a huge black cloud looming on the horizon, glad I didn't bother doing the wash today, still save me watering the pots on the patio. Anyone got any OS ideas about moss/algae on the paving slabs that won't involve me having to buy Jeyes Fluid to wash them down with, its got so expensive lately. Right I'm off to have some porridge and a nice cup of tea.have a great day everyone and I hope the sun shines wherever you are'cos its not looking too promising in north Kent at the moment
Cheers JackieO0 -
Morning everyone - well, I guess someone's got to work on the "Bank Holiday"
It's dull and overcast here today, but at least it's not raining like yesterday. So, managed to get some washing out on the line late last night and the towels are out this morning.
I hope that everyone has a good day off and that the sun is shining where you are. Enjoy yourselves!0 -
Morning all,
feeling fabulous after 10hours sleep-isn't it sad that staying in bed 'til 8:30 feels like a long lie in! Got some washing on the line already but it's looking grey here in London:( I have a bit of a dilemma, perhaps you guys can help. I have a bit of cash but can't decide whether to get a microwave or a slow cooker-any ideas?
purple: as a teacher can I give a bit of advice? get DD to write down when her exams are and then for each put topics in order of how comfortable she feels she is with each. Then, start with the most pressing subject and the most difficult topic. Hopefully that will help her see a way through the mountain.

Happy bank holiday to all.
Looks a bit gloomy here. Oh well, I emptied all the junk from the cupboard under the stairs the other day and need to get it back in an orderly way, just been waiting for the right sort of weather, looks like today is the day.
Might go shopping later as cupboards are bare. Need to do some baking as planning trip to the beach tomorrow, and want to take a picnic.0 -

Good Morning All
Didnt make it on here yesterday, went out with the kids, canal in the morning beach in the afternoon. Cold got steadily worse thoughout the day. Ended up with an early night with night nurse which I why I had a lie in this morning.
Gone very dark here so guess the showers they predicted are on the way. Think might have a quiet day around the house and look at doing something tomorrow.
We too had a barbeque last night - very nice. Do love a sausage my favourite is pork and apple Penny. DS loves chilli and OH & DD just like plain.
Hope to wake up soon (head is so muggy) and get on with ironing or some paperwork. Just about to make cheese and ham croissants for breakfast & probably will have meatballs and pasta for tea.
Hope you all have a great Bank Hol Monday.
x
Bethebee - that is so rude. Some people just expect things dont they
Oh & forgot - shower broke yesterday so have got to have a look around for a new one which FIL will fit for us hopefully.0 -

About time too,, hope you win at bingo.
welcome to princess_siobhan and Ladyshopper
Its raining here , not sure what the plans for today are, we went to my sisters last night for curry and wine, and got home after 1, so it was a slow start this morning.
Spent all day in the garden yesterday, potted up the plants I had bought, it looks great, OH put the brackets up for the hanging baskets, so the baskets went up and look great. DD and I painted a huge flower on the shed, to brighten it up, it looks fab. :T
Today I have a chicken to cook, not sure if I will do a roast or have it with new pots and salad, will see what the others want.
OH sold a pair of binoculars on ebay last nighnt for £250, he paid £5 for them at a car boot sale, what with the £215 from the bike bits last week, he is going very well :T, he has an old microphone on there at the moment.
Penny my dd'd half brother was asked out by Gok Wan, but turned him down. Thats our claim to fame
Katzen, I would go for ther slow cooker, its lovely coming home to a cooked meal at the end of the day, and I am sure as a teacher you have lots of long days, good advice about the revising :T
Ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
:hello:Good morning!
It doesn't look very promising out there atm so perhaps I won't do any washing today :j
I did some yesterday and just after I'd brought it back in from the line I noticed the dosing ball with the washing liquid leaking out of it, still sitting on the draining boardbut the washing was still clean
:D, just didn't have the smell of Mr S's non-bio liquid!
Not sure what we're doing today. DH woke up at one point and drew the curtains partly back then fell asleep again
betheebee - How rude of the woman
Pink-Winged - I keep forgetting to thank you for your kind suggestions about finding a nightdress! I eventually tracked one down in a larger branch of M&S, but thank you so much.
JackieO or anyone else going to see Night At The Museum 2, please let me know if it was any good - I've read several reviews and some said it wasn't nearly as good as the original (which we watched y'day), while others said it was better!
Edited to add: redruby - Great result with the binoculars! Your garden sounds lovely - for some reason I wasn't able to view all the pics of it, I could see the one with the pots, but when I tried to look at the other pics I just got a black screen!
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning All!
Chucking down rain in Hastings first thing. Clearing up a bit now. OH was going to wash the car, not bothering now:rotfl:
Been to B & Q and Tesco. Wanted a picnic bench cushion. B & Q too big for my bench, nothing in Tesco. Taking DS to work at Morrisons later, will look at their range instead.
Had a lazy day yesterday after gardening on Saturday, and wearing myself out! Will I ever learn? NO:o
Doing a mystery shop tomorrow in town. Really enjoying them, and it's a bit of money to supplement my income!
DS off to Cumbria tomorrow. Uni English test Thursday, please cross your fingers for him, he really wants to go!:o
Hope you all have a good Bank Holiday.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
