https://www.bethere.co.uk/ do a 3 month contract. Good speeds, I haven't had any problems with them.
It seems the options on that site all tie you to 12 month contracts.

Go for IDNet or Zen. You can't go wrong with either; they're both excellent ISPs.0

If you go into the packages 'Be Unlimited' for example, you pay slightly more (£3 a month) to have a 3 month contract and you pay a connection fee.
Be Value doesn't do a 3 month contract but the other ones do.
When I signed up I don't think they offered a 12 month cheaper contract on Be Unlimited so I'm not paying as much as quoted on there now but did have to pay the connection fee.0 -
It looks like the dongle-mobile broadband might be the best option for me.
As taking the connection fee into account, even the cheapest broadband for 3 months would cost almost £100 (and I'm sure I could get a 12 month contract for £120 if I got cable re-activated). So yeah, Znet etc. doesn't look like a good option.
Has anyone got any feedback on mobile broadband? Reliability etc.
Also, this may seem like a stupid question, but does PAYG broadband work the same way as a PAYG phone. As in you top up and you're charged by the minute, or by how much you d/l and you credit goes down that way. Or, is it a straight month you pay for (i.e. - you activate it on say the 28th of May, and it will expire on 28th June) no matter how much or little you use it [of course taking the d/l limits into account]???

You're charged by how much you download.
What are you planning to do on the internet?
If you're going to be doing anything other than basic browsing and email, it could turn out to be very expensive.0 -
Arrrrggghhhh! This seems so confusing.
I don't really know how much mb or whatever browsing the internet takes up. Does streaming things from BBCI player (etc.) count as "heavy downloading"?
Also is there anyway of being able to work out how much credit you're actually using? Like for example how much would 10 minutes on email cost?Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
Mobile internet isn't really suitable for streaming media, such as YouTube or BBC iPlayer. You'll end up paying more than you would have done if you had just got regular broadband.0
